Skeleton geometry has made it possible to reduce weight without diminishing braking power while maintaining the same operating safety. The differentiated front and rear geometry ensures power and progressive travel. brake-pad height adjustment ratio: 40-50 mm (measured from brake fixing-bolt to brake-shoe-nut)
With the new Super Record, Record, and Chorus groupsets, shifting is extremely easy thanks to the long front plate of the front mech body, meaning greater leverage and therefore truly reduced movement when shifting. Shifting precision is achieved thanks to the design of the new narrower cages. The semi-inner cage, in aluminium, has features that improve shifting speed. The most efficient downshifting on the market is achieved thanks to the integrated outer semi-cage in carbon fibre, a distinctive Campagnolo feature on the Super Record and Record front mechs, or by the positioning of a plate on the tip of the Chorus front mech. S2 System (Secure Shifting System) The special support system built into the derailleur safeguards working of the drivetrain, guaranteeing maximum compatibility with frames on the market. Special Inner Cage Design The inner semi-cage, in aluminium, has features that improve shifting speed, give greater rigidity and provides more space for chain crossovers
The Campagnolo Chorus EPS groupset takes a great deal of its DNA from its mechanical counterpart as it represents a more accessible version of Campagnolo performance, quality and attention to detail but delivers it in the laser-like precision package of an EPS drivetrain. The shifting performance of the Chorus EPS groupset is exactly the same as its lighter weight siblings, Record and Super Record, making for a transmission fit for professional racing. Shifting even under heavy load is no problem for the Chorus EPS transmission and mud, grime and debris have met their match against such powerful motors. The EPS rear derailleur is comprised mainly of a mechanical structure, derived from the mechanical gear and composed of a derailleur rod/parallelogram/derailleur cage, of a worm screw enabled by an electronic actuator. As with the derailleur, the electronic rear derailleur actuator is composed of a gear motor and a sensor, the built-in resolver, that reads its movements. The geometry of the parallelogram has been made more rigid and optimised to promote interaction with the electronic parts. The rear derailleur is also equipped with a play recovery system using a helicoidal spring that optimises stability and precision and keeps operation and performance constant over time, even after many kms have been covered. As with the mechanical rear derailleur, it is possible to optimise its position with respect to the frame and chain by acting on two adjusting screws: the screw that adjusts the mechanical end stop and the screw that adjusts the distance between the upper pulley and sprockets. By using these screws it is possible to optimise the installation of the rear derailleur and increase the precision of its operation. DTI: Digital Tech Intelligence is housed inside the Power Unit and it continuously monitors the signals that arrive from all the EPS components, thus managing their operation. Multi-Shifting There are no longer any limits to multi-shifting and the choice is at the fingertips of the cyclist. Ride back home The uncoupling mechanism of the rear derailleur is useful if the battery runs out ""on the road"", allowing you to manually ""uncouple"" the rear derailleur to position it on which ever sprocket you require. Waterproof In order to achieve the IP67 classification, all the electronic components of the EPS system underwent a series of tests, which proved their ability to function perfectly under one meter of water for at least 30 minutes.
The quick-release system allows rapid wheel changes, whilst the low profile offers the maximum aerodynamic coefficient.
Silence, Action. The Potenza 11 speed chain is quieter than ever. The new 5.5 millimetre thickness has been combined with the new materials and a special anti-vibration treatment which permits outstanding fludity and optimum shift performance in all conditions.
The completely redesigned rim for the Campagnolo Zonda C17 road wheels takes its design inspiration from the growing trend that sees the use of increasingly wider tyres, with 25mm clinchers becoming the standard if not the new minimum sizing for road riding and racing. With this increased popularity of both 25mm and 28mm tyres, the wheel needs to be designed in a way to optimise the tyre/wheel interface. The updated wider rim on the Campagnolo Zonda C17 wheelset ensures a more efficient shape of the tyre, improving cornering grip and safety while reducing aerodynamic drag and rolling resistance. This seemingly small increase in width offers a surprisingly different riding experience, one that is sure to leave any cyclist pleasantly convinced that this change is for the best. The C17 rim has also been structurally optimised and ensures a surefooted grip on clincher tyres, as well as even better braking, feel when compared with previous versions.
The sprockets must be shaped appropriately for the drivetrain to work perfectly. Each sprocket on this Campagnolo 10 speed cassette has an indented ramp, called Ultra Drive (UD), to assist in upshifting. The Tooth profiles are also custom configured to help with downshifting. The end result is perfect shifting and high precision operation on every ride. Please Note: Not compatible with the Wahoo Kickr turbo trainer as this cassette has 8 inner arms. The Wahoo Campagnolo Freehub is only compatible with 4 arm Campagnolo cassettes.
Born as the very first complete wheelset with each component in its build being specifically designed as a complete unit to ensure unparalleled efficiency and performance the Shamal continued to introduce new technologies that would change the way aluminum performance wheels were produced. So advanced was the Shamal in its early stages that it was found also in World Tour competition often and to this day is still perhaps the most race ready aluminum wheelset available.
Direct mount calipers for use with Campagnolo groupsets.
With its new design as well as a plethora of useful and innovative new technologies, this small component improves the EPS experience in a big way. Improved integration, facilitated and nofuss charging, improved led diagnostics and wireless technology that allows for increased interaction with the groupset are just a few of the improvements housed in its tiny structure. Enclosed and protected in the Power Unit and interface, ""Digital Tech Intelligence"" transmits, receives and processes data thousands of times a second. An electronic brain which instantaneously synchronises all the functions requested by the rider. With just a simple click of the controls, D.T.I transmits the corresponding signal instantly, accurately and reliably to the rear or front derailleur, for levels of performance and control feel never experienced before with a conventional drivetrain. But as well as all this, the D.T.I. system also monitors the entire drivetrain and each of its components, continuously checking battery level and functionality, and checking that the rear and front derailleur are working correctly. The procedures to reset the rear derailleur and derailleur to zero are essential for the system to function. These procedures allow the system to learn the reference positions of the chain on the sprockets and chainrings, which will be used to calculate the positions that need to be used in all operating conditions. During the resetting to zero phase the movements of the rear derailleur and derailleur occur continuously, and not through set movements as during adjustment, and they depend on the pressure time of levers 2 and 3. The client can adjust the reference position of the rear derailleur and/or derailleur using the adjustment procedure known as Riding Setting. The adjustment of the rear derailleur is designed especially in case you change the wheel for one with a set of sprockets that are positioned differently with respect to the drop out.It is possible to start the procedure for either the rear derailleur or the derailleur from any chainring. Every time either keys 2 or 3 is pressed, the system performs a set displacement of 0.25 mm if you act on the rear derailleur, and approximately 0.1 mm if you act on the derailleur. When you have completed the adjustment phase, the system will correct the established positions of all chainrings based on the new settings. The EPS system is capable of automatically detecting a whole range of malfunctions. If a malfunction is detected, the EPS system turns on an RGB led located on the power unit. Depending on the area where the malfunction has been detected the led takes on different colours, as per the table below. Being that in some situations the cause of the malfunction making the led light up on the power unit may be temporary, a number of operations are recommended to the end user depending on the colour of the light that appears on the PowerUnit."
