The Schwalbe Marathon GT 365 Road Tyre comes EBike ready. Certain faster EBikes require specialist tyres and the Schwalbe Marathon GT 365 Road Tyre is one of them. Valid throughout Europe the Schwalbe Marathon GT 365 Road Tyre is ECE-R75 certified. The Schwalbe Marathon GT 365 Road Tyre features DualGuard Protection Technology, which combines two protection layer principles (special India rubber & nylon fabric) under the new lamella tread. The image above shows a cross section of the DualGuard protection on a wired tyre. If you're looking to stay on the road in, almost, any condition the entire year without changing your tyre the Schwalbe Marathon GT 365 Road Tyre will do just that.
The Schwalbe Lugano K-Guard Road Tyre uses K-Guard protection to reduce punctures on every ride. K-Guard uses a layer of natural rubber that is reinforced with Kevlar® fibres. The image above shows a cross section of the K-Guard Kevlar® protection.
SmartGuard The most efficient protection belt there is for bike tyres, in other words: flatless. Solid, 5 mm thick layer of highly flexible special rubber provides permanent protection also in the case of embedded objects. Even thumbtacks are no problem for this tyre. Improved Rolling resistance The patented, 5 mm thick SmartGuard layer, when compared to all generic products, has a significant advantage in rolling resistance. We further extended its lead in the latest version. Also in the SmartGuard, we now use a proportion of recycled rubber from old latex products. "Anti-aging" side wall It now lasts much longer before developing unsightly cracks when subjected to use with too low air pressure. RaceGuard This belt was developed specially with racing in mind. A synthesis of special India rubber and several layers of nylon fabric offers very effective protection against penetration punctures. There is only a minimal increase in weight and rolling resistance of these tyres.

K-Guard Protection K-Guard is Schwalbes minimum standard for protection belts and has been proven for many years now. It consists of natural rubber and is reinforced with Kevlar fibres. Together with the 50 TPI carcass all Active Line tyres are well protected against punctures. Please note: These versions does not have the reflective stripe around the sidewall.
These tubes are lighter than standard tubes to assist with reducing overall weight.
This tyres features: GreenGuard. The highly elastic, India rubber layer is 3mm thick. Other manufacturers call such a tyre "Plus". However, Green is not just the colour, but also the philosophy: One third of the GreenGuard is made up of recycled latex products. "Anti-Ageing". The completely new sidewall construction can withstand for much longer the typical cracking resulting from overloading due to insufficient inflation pressure. Also the new Endurance Compound substantially increases durability. E-Bike Ready. The new Marathon has been designed for use on all types of E-Bikes. The following sizes bear the ECE75 mark, suitable for the use on faster, up to 50kph E-Bikes.
Dynamically designed with a fast-paced tread pattern, the lightest Marathon tyre Schwalbe has ever produced comes equipped with a SpeedGrip compound, making sure every run is as pacy and controlled as possible. Low-weighted thanks to its LiteSkin sidewall construction, it is kept safe from punctures and tears thanks to its in-built double-layered RaceGuard strip under the tread. Flexible enough to cope with terrain changes, the Marathon Racer is a brilliant tyre choice for the avid roadster.
The spikes work best on ice when running at minimum pressure, while at maximum pressure the tyres can be ridden on ice-free roads with minimal road noise. Spikes F&Q's Can it also be ridden on a normal road? Without any problem, but if the road is only rarely covered with snow the resulting tyre noise may prove annoying. And it won't slide out in cornering? No. The spikes 'claw' really well into normal asphalt roads and even fast cornering is not a problem. Aren't spikes illegal? Bike tyre spikes are no problem. Only motor vehicles spikes are prohibited in some countries, because they damage the road. Fast E-bikes are however considered motor vehicles. Do the tyres have to be run in? In order to ensure that spikes are permanently fixed, tyres should be run in for about 25 miles on asphalt, while avoiding any fast acceleration or heavy braking. What is the lifespan of the spikes? All Schwalbe spikes have a core made of extremely hard wearing tungsten carbide, so they can cover a few thousand miles. It is normal for the spike edges to round off and for them to become more deeply embedded.
This inner tube is extremely reliable and features quality-controlled for safer cycling as each tube is checked twice at the factory to ensure safer cycling.
The new racing tyre is called Schwalbe One. The name alone indicates how significant this new tire is for the bicycle tyre manufacturer based in the German town of Reichshof. It is produced by Schwalbe in a high-end factory set up exclusively for the manufacture of this new top-class tyre. The Schwalbe One has been used RadioShack Leopard Trek, AG2R and FDJ. With its Schwalbe One the company is underlining its major objectives in cycle racing. The Schwalbe One is the fastest and at the same time the most reliable competition tyre we have ever produced. The new triple compound: Minimum rolling resistance, maximum cut resistance A completely new compound, the OneStar triple compound, was developed specifically for extremely low rolling resistance. With Advances in recent years there have been major developments in compounding, without which such rubber mixes would not have been possible. As a result Schwalbe has achieved a great improvement in the familiar trade-off between rolling resistance, wet adhesion and durability. The technicians have subjected innumerable rubber mixes and more than 50 prototypes to laboratory tests and practical trials. However, the OneStar triple compound is not only faster, it also delivers the good grip we all appreciate and it is also more cut-resistant than previous compounds. This makes the tire significantly more puncture-resistant. The tread contour with its more robust tyre shoulder also helps to make the tyre more reliable. With its 205 grams the new racing tire, due to a slight increase in the amount of material used, is just a little heavier than the Ultremo ZX. But the technical benefits more than offset this supposed disadvantage: thanks to the innovative triple compound, rolling resistance is minimized. At the same time the compound, the V-Guard and the new tread pattern make the tyre extremely puncture-resistant. Jens Voigt from Team RadioShack Leopard Trek confirms this fact: "I am very satisfied with the performance of the Schwalbe tyres. I never experienced such wet adhesion, such great cornering with traditional, hand-sewn tubed tires in the past. And I'm thrilled with Schwalbe's persistence and the way the company is putting its heart and soul into constantly improving these racing tyres!" The Schwalbe One factory Schwalbe has set up a dedicated high-end factory within its production plant in Indonesia, specifically for the manufacture of these tyres. Which is a completely new unit where only Schwalbe One tyres are being produced, with fixed vulcanization and production units that are used exclusively for this tyre and where the most skilled workers in the entire Schwalbe plant can be found helping to ensure a consistently high quality and reliability. Handmade Tubular Hand making a tubular tyre is an art in itself. So, because production differs distinctly from the manufacture of regular bicycle tyres, they are exclusively manufactured in a new Schwalbe factory. For each, individual "hand made tubular" a lot of careful craftsmanship is required, so only the most skilled people are employed to construct each tyre and by hand, stitch and glue together each part.
