If you do crash, the Women's Montaro MTB Helmet II (MIPS) has a raft of features to keep your head safer.Protection starts with the EPS foam liner. This provides the shock-absorbing properties needed to protect against injury when you bang your head. Roll Cage™ reinforcement also maintains structural strength and stability during a crash. The MTB-specific shape ensures greater coverage across the whole head too. Covering the liner is a durable polycarbonate shell. This is bonded directly to the EPS Liner, creating a strong and durable helmet that can fend off the knocks from trail overgrowth. To this Giro then adds MIPS. MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) The Mips system is designed to provide added safety for helmets in many accidents. For certain impacts, the Mips system can reduce harmful rotational motion that might otherwise be transferred to the user’s head.Rotational motion is a common cause of concussions in oblique hits to the head.
