Much like its larger-wheeled sibling the Mahuna the Cinder Cone is the perfect all-rounder for the person looking to ride off-road or cruise around the backwoods bike paths. It features an air fork with 100mm of travel as well as a dependable 11-speed drivetrain and disc brakes. If you’re a fan of plus bikes you can run up to 2.8” tires. The Cinder Cone is where the mountain meets functionality at a great price. FEATURES KONA 6061 ALUMINUM Kona 7005 and 6061 Aluminum alloys are used extensively throughout our fleet of mountain and asphalt bicycles. A tough durable light alloy both Kona 7005 and 6061 deliver fantastic reliable performance that lasts for thousands of rides. Much of our 7005/6061 tubing is butted and/or formed meaning the tubing’s wall thickness can be increased or decreased as well as shaped so we can fine-tune a particular frame’s strength and ride characteristics depending on its intended application. INTERNAL HEADSET Bearing cups are actually pressed into the frame and are easily removable. An internal headset also reduces stack height so the height of the stem and bars are more adjustable giving the rider the best fit possible. TAPERED HEAD TUBE More girth at the bottom of the head tube better distributes shock force prolonging the bearing life of the headset itself and eliminating brake shudder while providing confident steering performance. The inherent strength of its triangular design also means a stronger steering position and improved balance giving the rider more control in rough terrain. A zero-stack tapered head tube also puts strength where the load is going—into the lower headset cup—maximizing bearing durability where it’s needed. TUBELESS COMPATIBLE RIMS Tubeless rims allow for tires with more puncture resistance; the ability to run lower tire pressure which provides better tire grip on the trail; lower rolling resistance; and weight savings over traditional tube and tire systems. 27.5' WHEELS The benefits of the 27.5-inch wheel are simple: they roll over obstacles and track better than 26-inch wheels but are more maneuverable and nimble than 29-inch ones. Fairdale based this bike loosely on some of their employee's own custom builds. It has a massive range and smooth shifting of the Weekender Nomad's SRAM Apex drivetrain mated to the MX's handlebars more upright riding position. From concept through to design, the Kinematics, the geometry and specification; the Reactor is designed from the ground up to be the ultimate aggressive trail bike. It is at home on technical climbs, but happiest when thrashing the most technical trails you can point it at. Full Suspension Carbon MTB Frame To optimise the weight, strength and stiffness, the Reactor Carbon frame features a full UD woven carbon fibre frameset (Including chain and seat stays). It is available for 27.5” or 29” wheel sizes. These are two totally different, compromise free frames that were designed and developed at the same time. Each frame is simply tailored around each wheel size. Speed or play: which do you value more? The manoeuvrability of 27.5” or the raw speed of a 29”? Adjustable Geometry All Reactor frames feature a “flip chip” to adjust the geometry from “Trail” to “Rail mode”. Trail – As the name suggests, this setting is best suited for trail riding. It is for riders who get as much enjoyment from the climb as the descents. Rail - The Rail setting turns the Reactor into a corner shredder, dropping the bottom bracket 6mm and slackening the head angle by half a degree. It is there to maximise the descending capabilities. Suspension Design To ensure the bike could climb as well as it descends, Nukeproof designed the four bar horst linkage to have higher levels of anti-squat for climbing gears but lower levels when you drop down the cassette. This means that the bike can behave itself on the climbs but when you get it up to speed, it turns into a trail hooligan. The combination of low anti-squat and progressive rate give ultimate small bump compliance (removes rough trail and root chatter) with good mid-stroke support for cornering/pumping and end stroke progression for aggressive riding. Balanced anti-rise figures allow the Reactor some squat when braking hard, maintaining rider position and providing a good amount of pressure through the tyre to ensure traction. The Reactor is designed to reward the rider and ensure you get that stoke factor in on any ride.
