Using the same geometry and frame profiles as the SLR 9 Series, but with our C7 carbon fibre, the SLR 8.9 Disc is a fast and comfortable all-rounder, with Shimano’s excellent 105 hydraulic groupset.At the heart of the bike is a light and efficient C7 carbon frame with tube profiles developed in CFD and the Wind Tunnel to keep aerodynamic drag to the minimum. This means going faster for the same effort, what’s not to like? We haven’t forgotten about comfort too, it’s an important part of enjoying the ride, and a comfortable rider is a faster one. Dropped seat stays and a slim-bladed carbon fork help absorb bumps and road buzz, but a tapered head tube and fork steerer keep handling sharp and precise.Shimano’s R7020 105 Hydraulic groupset delivers smooth and quiet gear shifting, with an excellent range of gears courtesy of the 50-34t compact 105 chainset and 11-30t cassette. The SLR frameset is optimised for aerodynamic performance without adding weight or compromising the ride quality. Our wind-tunnel proven tube profiles minimise the separation of airflow, resulting in lower aerodynamic drag.The SLR’s geometry strikes a balance between a long and low race position and an upright, endurance set up.
