SRAM G2 Ultimate Disc BrakeReady for fast and fun rides, this mountain bike (MTB) hydraulic disc brake features a tough build combined with proven SRAM technologies for conquering the demands of modern day trail-riding. Featuring a high-quality carbon lever blade with a forged aluminium lever body and caliper, this model offers a perfect balance of strength and durability without weighing down your ride with unnecessary weight. Coming kitted out with more caliper stiffness and an updated pad compound with bite, it also includes many of SRAM's finest technologies, so it's ready to deliver dependable performance wherever your next adventure takes you.Every trail and every rider is unique. To meet the infinite variables SRAM created the G2: powerful, consistent, reliable. SRAM obsessed over heat management, modulation, materials and design. They made lever-reach and contact points adjustable to fit every hand. And they tested the whole system to ensure it delivers confidence-inspiring performance and control, every ride. For the Ultimate, SRAM held nothing back. Its engineers sculpted the finest materials using titanium and carbon fibre to make this the brand's lightest four-piston brake ever. Power, modulation and lever feel set a new standard. Personalisation is quick and intuitive. And for performance, its test riders didn't dub it the "Mini-Code" for nothing.Features: Lever Blade Material: Carbon Lever Body Material: Forged Aluminium Caliper Body Material: Forged Aluminium Caliper Hardware Material: Titanium Piston Material: Phenolic Plastic Use: MTB Brake Type: Hydraulic disc brake Pad Type: Steel-backed Organic Bracket Type: Direct Mount DIR Bracket Included: No, available separately Number of Pistons: 4 Recommended Rotor Type: 1-piece CentreLine Rotor Compatibility: Front Option: 200mm; Rear Option: 180mm Rotor Included: No, available separately Clamp Included: Yes, MMX Clamp Hose Routing: Adjustable banjo Contact Adjust: Yes Caliper Construction: 2-piece Caliper Bleed Port: Bleeding Edge Hydraulic Fluid: DOT 5.1 Lever Pivot: Bearing Reach Adjust: Tool-free Hose Length: Front Option: 950mm; Rear Option: 2000mm Included: x1 Brake lever, x1 caliper and x1 MMX clamp (rotor/bracket sold separately) Single or Pair: SingleTechnologies: Bleeding Edge: With this revised caliper fluid circuitry, the bleed port has been moved to the bottom of the caliper, and all four piston bores can communicate. This way, during bleeding fluid naturally fills the caliper, resulting in an easier, more consistent bleed. Contact Point Adjustment: Some people like the instantaneous power of a short lever throw. Others prefer the feel of a longer throw. With Contact Point Adjust, you can pick the position you want your fingers to be in when your brakes are engaged. It’s a quick and easy way to customise the feel of your brakes without having to move the pads. It’s also a way to balance both brake levers to feel exactly the same. Lever Pivot Bearings: Precision sealed bearings at the lever pivot enhance the clean, crisp lever actuation and consistent, light, one-finger feel. Power Reserve Geometry: Your fingers pull in a straight line, but brake levers move in an arc. Bottom line: Your fingers typically want to slip off the ends of the levers as you pull. SRAM designed all of its brakes with the industry's lowest X Factor (that's the distance from the centre of the handlebar to the centre of the lever's pivot). That reduces the lever's inward travel, creating an arc that's closer to your fingers' natural motion and more power is delivered to the brake lever. And, the cool part is, every SRAM and Avid brake lever has it. S4 Lightweight 4-Piston Caliper: The S4 Caliper features four Machined and Moly-coated aluminium pistons for consistent rollback and easy set-up, Heat shield insulation and Bleeding Edge porting and adaptor technology for easy bleeds. Swinglink: Squeeze a SRAM brake lever and you notice it immediately. Less deadband. More positive engagement. A new cam system requires less lever throw to push the pads toward the rotor. That’s great, but there’s more to perfect braking performance than just power. You need control. Many brake systems minimise deadband—but at the cost of modulation. SwingLink solves that with its special cam shape. When the pads contact the rotor, the leverage rate curve is flat and smooth, avoiding that “on/off” brake feel. It’s the perfect balance of power and precision. Timing Port Closure: A hydraulic brake’s timing port is the connection between the reservoir and the lever cylinder bore. When the lever is squeezed, a cup seal passes this area and closes the port, which pressurizes the system. SRAM’s timing port closure system features durable seals and an ultra-smooth cylinder bore finish producing dependable braking power and consistency. Mini-Code Power: Code set the benchmark for braking power — and won a few championships, too. G2 brings it to the trail. Available in two versions: Matchmaker X integrates the RockShox XLoc and is compatible with XX and X0 brakes. Standard Matchmaker is also available and works with any split-clamp design and RockShox PushLoc.PiggyBack ReservoirThe brake fluid reservoir on SRAM's latest lever design is optimized for both performance and ease of use. The PiggyBack Reservoir offers a simple, failsafe way to manage brake fluid, and also allows for ambidextrous lever placement—so you can switch your levers on the handlebar and run them moto without hassle.PURE BladderSRAM's brake lever design includes a reshaped bladder, called Pure, that helps regulate and reduce air bubbles. The bladder is specifically shaped to evacuate air from the lever and push the fluid exactly where it's needed. The result is improved back-pressure relief, which produces dependable braking power and consistency.SwingLinkSqueeze a SRAM brake lever and you notice it immediately. Less deadband. More positive pad engagement. A new cam system requires less lever throw to push the pads toward the rotor. That's great, but there's more to perfect braking performance than just power. You need control. Many brake systems minimize deadband—but at the cost of modulation. SwingLink solves that with its special cam shape. When the pads contact the rotor, power is modulated, avoiding that “on/off” brake feel. It's the perfect balance of power and precision.Features: Lever Blade Material: Stamped Aluminium Use: Mountain Bike (MTB), Cross Country (XC), All Mountain (AM) and Free Ride (FR) Brake Type: Hydraulic disc brake Pad Type: Steel-backed Caliper Type: Four-piston caliper Recommended MMC Clamp (Not Included): Stl(matteblk)bolt, blk clp Rotors Included: No Single or Pair: Single Weight: 392gBuy SRAM Components from Chain Reaction Cycles, the World's Largest Online Bike Store.
