They also both have good mid-stroke support for better cornering and pumping. Like the Dissent, the progression drops off in the end stroke to prevent mid-stroke harshness or spiking and allows more tuning options with volume spacers.?The + Progressive setting can be used to add shock progression on a coil set up just like adding a volume spacer to an air shock. The added suppleness is also good in wet and slippery conditions.?The Giga Frame is constructed completely from UD 700/800 Carbon fibre. This allowed us to optimise the stiffness and compliance of the frame parts individually. The front triangle has been tailored for stability and precision, whilst the rear triangle was designed for compliance to help tracking and provide grip. Another bonus of the carbon rear triangle is that it has a lower un-sprung mass for ultimate suspension performance.Available in 5 sizes (Small to XXL) in either 27.5” or 29” wheel size, there is the perfect fit for everyone. In our quest for tube shapes that deliver the fastest frame that the UCI rules allow we took a page out of the Venge development book and utilized our FreeFoil Shape Library. Armed with a library of optimized shapes we turned to the Win Tunnel to plug these shapes into a modular test bike for more testing and validation. The result? A new Tarmac Comp that’s faster than before—33 seconds faster over 40km than the Tarmac SL6. No compromises just pure speed. While aerodynamics were paramount to the Tarmac’s development and to the development of all of our race bikes weight was the co-pilot on this optimal race bike journey. Previously “aero bikes” always compromised in the weight department—the more drag you reduced the more weight you gained. With the new Tarmac our design philosophy was to keep it at or below the UCI weight limit out of the box with no sacrifices to aerodynamics. And with the help of the FreeFoil Shape Library tools like isotopic FEA analysis and some engineering wizardry by the best engineers in the industry we delivered a frame that weighs a mere 920 grams without giving up a gram of aero stiffness or ride quality. Continuing our quest to develop the perfect race bike we used our Rider-First Engineered™ philosophy to ensure that the new Tarmac is the most balanced best handling Tarmac yet—no matter the size. With seven wins at Paris-Roubaix our Roubaix has proven that Smoother is Faster. Until this moment however smooth has admittedly come with some compromises. But not anymore. Meanwhile to ensure the weight and ride quality we turned to a Rider-First Engineered™ design to deliver optimal stiffness and compliance across all sizes from 44 to 64cm. Of course the frame has shed some serious weight in the process. And to prep you for your own Hell of the North we’ve made room for 33mm tires. To go along with the new frame we’ve also developed a totally-new S-Works Pavé seatpost. Not only is it the first compliant seatpost that’s ALSO aerodynamic it does so without any additional weight or finicky contraptions. Starting with the same D-shape design found on the Tarmac we took its compliance a step further by building additional flex into the upper and developing a new drop-clamp design in the frame. This provides plenty of compliance while staying perfectly balanced with the front-end so you get a smooth balanced ride no matter how rough the road. The Future Shock 2.0 is the result of our pro riders’ demands for the cobbles of Roubaix. It’s smoother faster and gives you more control via a knob atop the stem. This knob adjusts compression from fully-open to stiff while hydraulically-damped internals control rebound. Add it up and this latest version will reduce fatigue and increase your speed no matter the terrain. The new Smooth Boot top cap and Future Stem also enhance the aesthetic so you get a clean transition from head tube to stem.
