The Ekar rear derailleur’s all-new 1x13 speed specific design has been created especially for gravel and all-road. The combination of more than 70 moving parts lovingly crafted in carbon fibre, techno polymers and anodised alloys, with stainless steel bolts - exceed the demands of gravel and all-road riding. This unique combination of materials creates a derailleur which is lightweight, strong and durable for the rigours of this category of riding. It is able to combine quick, precise and reliable shifting with high chain security and toughness. The Ekar groupset has been designed for short evenly spaced shifts between gears and the 2D parallelogram trajectory of the derailleur allows for precise mechanical movement between the 13 sprockets. You can maintain your cadence, whatever terrain you are riding. Technologies: Revolutionary Clutch Lock design: for swift and easy wheel removal 2D parallelogram trajectory: for precise shifting 12T upper and 14T lower jockey wheels, both constructed in high-grade polymer: for smooth chain running and secure retention.
This chain catcher can be used with both EPS and mechanical systems. Campagnolo recommends this device for use with Braze-On front Derailleurs (or Braze-On Front derailleurs when used with a Band-On front derailleur adapter).
Auto Repositioning D.T.I.™ technology means that the EPS™ system knows the rear derailleur position and the selected sprocket at all times. In relation to this information, the system transmits a signal to the front derailleur, which fine-adjusts its position to maintain optimum alignment with the chain. Campagnolo wins Red Dot Award 2015 The Super Record EPS 2015 electronic groupset has won the prestigious reddot Award: Best of the Best
The EPS rear derailleur is comprised mainly of a mechanical structure, derived from the mechanical gear and composed of a derailleur rod/parallelogram/derailleur cage, of a worm screw enabled by an electronic actuator. As with the derailleur, the electronic rear derailleur actuator is composed of a gear motor and a sensor, the built-in resolver, that reads its movements. The geometry of the parallelogram has been made more rigid and optimised to promote interaction with the electronic parts. The lower and upper bodies, the parallelogram and the carbon derailleur cage are moved by a screw system and lead worm screw (not a spring screw) which, in turn, is enabled by the electronic actuator that communicates with the DTI. The built-in resolver inside the actuator is capable of reading the movements of the rear derailleur at any time and optimising its position by communicating with the DTI (Digital Tech Intelligence). The rear derailleur is also equipped with a play recovery system using a helicoidal spring that optimises stability and precision and keeps operation and performance constant over time, even after many kms have been covered. As with the mechanical rear derailleur, it is possible to optimise its position with respect to the frame and chain by acting on two adjusting screws: the screw that adjusts the mechanical end stop and the screw that adjusts the distance between the upper pulley and sprockets. By using these screws it is possible to optimise the installation of the rear derailleur and increase the precision of its operation. DTI: Digital Tech Intelligence is housed inside the Power Unit and it continuously monitors the signals that arrive from all the EPS components, thus managing their operation. Multi-Shifting: There are no longer any limits to Multi-shifting and the choice is at the fingertips of the cyclist. Ride Back Home: The uncoupling mechanism of the rear derailleur is useful if the battery runs out on the road, allowing you to manually uncouple the rear derailleur to position it on which ever sprocket you require. Water Proof: In order to achieve the IP67 classification, all the electronic components of the EPS system underwent a series of tests, which proved their ability to function perfectly under one meter of water for at least 30 minutes.
The Campagnolo Chorus EPS groupset takes a great deal of its DNA from its mechanical counterpart as it represents a more accessible version of Campagnolo performance, quality and attention to detail but delivers it in the laser-like precision package of an EPS drivetrain. The shifting performance of the Chorus EPS groupset is exactly the same as its lighter weight siblings, Record and Super Record, making for a transmission fit for professional racing. Shifting even under heavy load is no problem for the Chorus EPS transmission and mud, grime and debris have met their match against such powerful motors. With the new Super Record, Record, and Chorus groupsets, shifting is extremely easy thanks to the long front plate of the front mech body, meaning greater leverage and therefore truly reduced movement when shifting. Shifting precision is achieved thanks to the design of the new narrower cages. The semi-inner cage, in aluminium, has features that improve shifting speed. The most efficient downshifting on the market is achieved thanks to the integrated outer semi-cage in carbon fibre, a distinctive Campagnolo feature on the Super Record and Record front mechs, or by the positioning of a plate on the tip of the Chorus front mech. S2 System (Secure Shifting System) The special support system built into the derailleur safeguards working of the drivetrain, guaranteeing maximum compatibility with frames on the market. Special Inner Cage Design The inner semi-cage, in aluminium, has features that improve shifting speed, give greater rigidity and provides more space for chain crossovers
The design is derived directly from the 11-speed components with the oversized outer plate to provide greater rigidity to the entire system. The surface treatment protects it from corrosion and ensures that the Veloce(TM) rear derailleur maintains its performance over time.
The Campagnolo Chorus EPS groupset takes a great deal of its DNA from its mechanical counterpart as it represents a more accessible version of Campagnolo performance, quality and attention to detail but delivers it in the laser-like precision package of an EPS drivetrain. It's extremely powerful motors are capable of producing levels of torque without rival in electronic shifting which guarantee precise and effective shifting no matter the conditions or circumstances. Shifting even under heavy load is no problem for the Chorus EPS transmission and mud, grime and debris have met their match against such powerful motors. With an IP67 waterproof rating on the entire system rain gear is only necessary for the cyclist, not his groupset. The dérailleur is composed of a mechanical structure with dropout and a series of electronic parts. The outer Dérailleur Rod held in place by a double-finned pin that passes all the way through to increase rigidity. The System that links the dérailleur to the frame is made of aluminium co-pressed with the engineering polymer of the body of the dérailleur. This creates optimal solidity and rigidity ensuring that the dérailleur maintains a correct position with respect to the frame. The core of the dérailleur is composed of an electronic actuator; in turn composed of a gear motor with a built-in resolver that uses Magnetic Hall Sensor technology (as the sensor is not in contact it is not affected by the vibrations generated by the terrain, and is therefore always precise). The gear motor was developed in partnership with a Swiss company that produces electric motors used in missions to Mars. The actuator is also equipped with a ""cascade gearbox"" which allows movement to be transferred in an exact and rapid manner. AUTOMATIC CORRECTION: Compared to the traditional mechanical derailleur that could be adjusted with micro displacements made by acting on the levers manually, the EPS dérailleur is equipped with a very sophisticated electronic AUTOMATIC POSITION CORRECTION system. DTI: Digital Tech Intelligence is housed inside the Power Unit and it continuously monitors the signals that arrive from all the EPS components, thus managing their operation. WATERPROOF: In order to achieve the IP67 classification, all the electronic components of the EPS system underwent a series of tests, which proved their ability to function perfectly under one meter of water for at least 30 minutes.
In keeping with its philosophy and history, Campagnolo has gone even further, and created the triple crankset with the best ""U"" and ""Q"" factors in its class. This outstanding result offers tangible benefits to the rider: derailing speed and precision of a par with double drivetrains, and perfect hip-knee-foot alignment for maximum pedalling efficiency and maximum joint protection.
The 8 special upward zones and 2 downward zones for the chainrings associated to the speed and precision of the new EPS derailleur guarantee top performance.
