Unlike the standard bolt-thru axle, this version has an easy to use solid twist lever. There's no need to twist and back off to get a clamping mechanism working, simply twist the lever until your wheel is solidly locked in place. The lever sits on splines and can engaged/disengaged to set the lever in your desired position once tightened in place. The AV-1 allows you to hold an axle in place using a bench vise, so it will not turn while work is done on the hub.

The set comes with both the left and right-hand axles, with the left axle tightening in an anti-clockwise fashion and the right one fastening in a clockwise direction.
