Sporting 20% bigger blocks (compared to other enduro/am profiles) and a thick tread compound, this tyre offers plenty of aggressive power and steering advantages to help your bike conquer the mountain. Technologies: Tubeless Technology: Friction between the tyre and tube is now a thing of the past. This crucially reduces the rolling resistance. It is even smaller than with super light competition tyres. With tubeless, you can ride with less air pressure without restrictions to performance! This brings noticeable advantages in comfort, but also significantly more control in critical situations and on poor routes. Tubeless systems provide very high puncture protection. Sudden air loss due to bursting tubes or valves tearing is ruled out. At the same time, a puncture protection fluid seals incisions within a tenth of a second, during the ride. TubelessEasy: The Monofile SnakeSkin fabric on the side wall makes the tubeless conversion for the MTB extremely easy and safe. It also provides the best cut protection on the side wall. ADDIX Soft: Perfectly suited to All Mountain and Trail riding in the Enduro and Downhill world of the sport. It has impressively good rolling characteristics and at the same time outstanding damping, both of which are also evident at low temperatures. It’s also ideal for e-MTBs. Super Gravity: The Super Gravity carcass construction comprises of a Quadruple Ply carcass what makes the tyre sidewall stable and safe. The tread remains extremely flexible and grippy with two carcass plies. It also has all around SnakeSkin protection for excellent resistance against cuts and slices.
This tyre offers minimal rolling resistance thanks to the Michelin GUM-X compound and the latex insert and is inspired by MOTO GP TM technology. This compound also provides efficient handling and stability in both wet and dry conditions thanks to the Michelin GUM-X compound. This tyre also offers exceptional wear resistance provided by Michelin High-Density Shield technology. This tubular tyre uses a cotton and aramid casing with a latex inner tube for lightweight, streamlined performance. Plus, with Michelin's latest advances in all-season grip and high-density protection technology, this tyre offers increased robustness, durability, and wet and dry performance.
Designed for all roads, this tyre gives you world-class fast rolling and cornering as well as maximum control as you clock up the miles. Technologies: Challenge Handmade Clinchers (HCL): Our Handmade Clinchers are made from the same materials and processes as our handmade tubulars but instead of sewing an inner tube inside the casing is wrapped around an aramid bead to form a tire that fits on a clincher rim. The HCL is moulded flat, not in a horseshoe like a TLR or VCL. This shape allows the casing to naturally deform over surface imperfections and minimize rolling resistance. A tubeless tire is moulded in a U-shape to make the sidewalls rigid, so the system does not “burp” or lose air when it deforms after it encounters a surface imperfection. The tubeless tire’s stiff sidewall compromises its ability to equal a supple HCL with a latex inner tube.
Vectran™ Breaker Vectran is a synthetically manufactured high-tech fibre from a natural model. Like spider silk, Vectran is a liquid-crystalline polymer (LCP). Vectran is spun from melted liquid polymer Vectra and processed further to a multi-strand thread. The Minion DHF is the standard by which all other downhill tyres are measured with its tubeless ready compatibility, side walls protection provided Maxxis EXO Protection giving them increased cut/abrasion resistance and its 3C Maxx Terra compound. EXO Protection Technology An extremely cut-resistant and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls of select mountain tyres. This densely woven fabric is also lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring that the performance of the tyre remains unaffected. Choose EXO Protection for exceptionally rocky, treacherous trails where the chance of sidewall cuts and abrasions is high. TR (Tubeless Ready) Technology Tubeless tyres provide the rider with many benefits: the ability to run lower air pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance when compared to a tube-type tyre; and less chance of flatting since there is no tube. Maxxis Tubeless Ready (TR) tyres provide the benefits of a UST tubeless tyre without the weight penalty. Their TR tyres use a standard casing and require the use of a liquid sealant in order to make them airtight. Maxxis Tubeless Ready tyres are the only Maxxis tyres approved for use with liquid sealants. 3C Maxx Terra An intermediate compound configuration used in select mountain tyres. 3C Maxx Terra is softer and offers more traction than 3C Maxx Speed, yet provides better treadwear and less rolling resistance than Maxx Grip.
Please Note: This tyre is listed as a clincher tyre, but it is a specific tyre of tyre that brings you the benefits of a tubular tyre, that is only compatible with clincher type rims. It is called a "tubular clincher" type tyre and cannot be used on tubular rims. The thinner tread of this road bike tyre also lowers rolling resistance while the tyre is maintaining ideal shock absorption properties and high puncture resistance. How Does the Tubular Clincher Tyre Work? When inflated, the tubular clincher (see image below), in the same way as a tubular, is pressed towards the rim. Simultaneously, the bead blocks of the profiled rubber band spread out embedding on the rim shoulders and eliminating any rotation of the tubular clincher against the rim as well as the possibility of the tubular clincher unseating. As the tubular clincher is inflated, the band side literally 'bite' into the rim shoulders. Benefits of Tufo's tubular clincher tyres: high inflation pressures - up to 15 bars (220 psi) without any damage to the rim walls, even in a case when the rim manufacturer specifies lower inflation pressures (the pressure is contained inside the tubular clincher and does not affect the rim wall), same riding quality as with tubular tyres, safe handling in case of punctures (the stability of a rider is not affected), the tubular clincher can be ridden when flat, and the fastest and easiest installation and dismantling without any tools.
Dual Compound Two compounds used within the tread of select tyres to offer lower rolling resistance and increased cornering grip.
