Dual Compound The dual compound tread utilises a hard base layer to reduce rolling resistance and provide knob support, while the siped, softer outer layer provides unparalleled grip on wet rocks and roots. EXO Protection Technology An extremely cut-resistant and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls of select mountain tyres. This densely woven fabric is also lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring that the performance of the tyre remains unaffected. The extremely resistant polyester fibre is woven tightly crosswire making a very high fabric density which not only makes the Breaker more resistant to foreign objects but is also resistant to punctures. The rolling resistance is not affected either by the PolyX Breaker. BlackChili Compound Continental refine newly developed synthetic rubbers with natural rubber with the proven high-performance tread compound. They use these rubbers with special nanometric carbon soot particles, which are optimized in shape and surface properties for best uses for the intended tyre. BlackChili Compound reaches an unprecedented level of performance. Tyres with BlackChili Compound reach an unprecedented level of performance. Compared to the previous best Activated Silica Compound, BlackChili tyres have 26% less rolling resistance, a 30 % higher friction value (grip) and a 5 % increase in mileage. TPS TyrePositioning System The narrower front tyre (22mm) provides reduced wind resistance and better handling. An adhesion-optimised tread mixture supplies the necessary grip, especially for wet cornering. The wider rear tyre (24mm) offers better traction thanks to a larger contact area and at the same time more comfort. Thanks to the fast-rolling, optimised tread mixture and larger contact area on the rear tyre, wear is reduced.
