The 3C Triple Compound mountain technology on the Maxxis High Roller II 29 mountain bike (MTB) tyre uses a harder, longer lasting base layer and two progressively softer top layers in order to optimise its traction and stability. Technologies: 3C Maxx Terra Compound: Maxx Terra is an intermediate compound configuration used in select Maxxis mountain bike tyres. It is softer and offers more traction than their 3C Maxx Speed, yet provides better treadwear and less rolling resistance than its Maxx Grip types. TR (Tubeless Ready) Technology: Tubeless tyres provide the rider with many benefits: the ability to run lower air pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance when compared to a tube-type tyre; and less chance of flatting since there is no tube. Maxxis Tubeless Ready (TR) tyres provide the benefits of a UST tubeless tyre without the weight penalty. Their TR tyres use a standard casing and require the use of a liquid sealant in order to make them airtight. This tubeless insert is specifically engineered for the rigours of gravel and adventure riding. Developed for simple installation, it can be inserted inside your tyre like a normal inner tube for greater performance, durability, protection and control. Air-Liner Gravel improves the performance of current tubeless tyre systems that work with air and latex. After the success and positive results obtained with Air-Liner MTB, Vittoria decided to go further by creating an innovative insert to support gravel tyres. Very easy to install - just insert it inside the tyre like a normal inner tube - Air-Liner Gravel is only suitable for use with tubeless systems and with 3-way bike valves (5-way valves are supplied in the package for an even more consistent airflow). The insert is compatible with the use of sealing liquid - preferably ammonia-free. Protection: Wheels and tyres are better protected with the Gravel Air-Liner Tire Insert. The insert absorbs the impacts that occur inside the tyre, thus eliminating the punctures caused by the rim. Control: Gravel Air-Liner replaces part of the air volume inside the tyre. The lower presence of air allows the tire to adhere better to the ground than a traditional tubeless system. Performance: Gravel Air-Liner Tyre Insert increases lateral stability without compromising grip. This results in better performance when cornering, climbing and braking. Durability: The polymer from which the Gravel Air-Liner is made is extremely durable. Used under normal conditions, it can last up to 2000 hours; or 1 hour completely airless (RUN-FLAT). Vectran™ Breaker Vectran is a synthetically manufactured high-tech fibre from a natural model. Like spider silk, Vectran is a liquid-crystalline polymer (LCP). Vectran is spun from melted liquid polymer Vectra and processed further to a multi-strand thread. Spider silk, like Vectran, has an enormous tear resistance at a very low weight – exactly the right properties to process into a premium Continental bike tyre as a puncture protection insert. A Vectran Breaker is lighter, more flexible and protects more effectively against cuts than the comparable nylon breaker. Vectran Breaker does not adversely affect the rolling resistance.
