Box One stems are cold forged from the highest quality 6061-T6 aluminum available. Featuring an open skeletal design and a dual mid-bolt wedge mounting system, they are lightweight yet maintain a very high level of strength and stiffness. By removing the rear pinch bolts and moving the mounting bolts to the middle of the stem, Box managed to reduce the weight and size and eliminated a serious hazard to the rider’s knees. To ensure proper clamping force, the stem must be mounted on a fork with at least 40mm of the exposed steerer tube. The Wethepeople Hydra Stem is as much of a beast as the one it was named after. Made from fully CNC machined 6061-T6 alloy that's strong and durable at a really good weight. Machining in key areas helps keep the weight down and gives the Hydra its distinct and clean design. The Hydra utilises Wethepeople's patented STC (Shark Tooth Clamping) technology, which features fine micro-knurling across the faceplate clamping area that allows the stem to "bite" into the knurling on the handlebars to create a much stronger grip.
