Whipping tabletops, leaning into and accelerating hard out of berms, and straight-lining a rocky and rooty chute - mountain biking is thrilling when it's all going well. It's when things don't quite go to plan where the fabulous D4 Composite Stealth Helmet comes in. Should you hit the dirt then it's there to keep your head protected and you quickly back on your bike with minimal fuss. The first line of defence is the remarkably light but tough TeXtreme® Spread tow carbon fibre shell. This wraps around an impact-absorbing EPS foam core - the forces from any crash are absorbed and dissipated by this core, offering superb protection. Durability and strength are also enhanced by the way of In-mould polycarbonate around the vent openings and exposed EPS. This is a lid up to the demands of daily mountain biking. Meanwhile, breakaway screws prevent the visor from catching on the ground and help prevent neck injuries. Lastly, MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) provides excellent brain-injury prevention. MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) The Mips system is designed to provide added safety for helmets in many accidents. For certain impacts, the Mips system can reduce harmful rotational motion that might otherwise be transferred to the user’s head. Rotational motion is a common cause of concussions in oblique hits to the head. In a crash, the Mips system is designed to move slightly inside the helmet to help redirect forces away from the head. Shop All MIPS Helmets Click Here With this level of protection and head protection, you may think ventilation is compromised. But not a bit of it. Troy Lee have carefully engineered the outer vents and inner channels to work with the headliner so fresh air is free to circulate and keep you cool. Inside the D4 you'll enjoy the brilliant XT2 washable liner. Lesser helmets will use standard foam liners which after continued use can soon start to feel uncomfortable and even itchy. Not the XT2. This anti-bacterial liner ensures no nasty odours or itchiness, and being washable you'll be able to keep it fresh for every ride. Unrivalled protection, impressively lightweight but durable construction and excellent ventilation combine to make the D4 the best TLD full-face helmet yet.
The D3 Fiberlite uses a lightweight fiberglass shell with wind-tunnel proven aerodynamics and an efficient ventilation system. Deep EPS (expanded polystyrene) channeling optimises airflow to keep the head cool. The fit is aided by the contoured and anatomic 3D cheek pads and removable and washable Dri-lex liner, the 3D cheek pads also quick-release for emergency helmet removable. Thanks to the D3 Fiberlite, the most decorated helmet in professional racing is now available for riders who crave factory performance. Built with an aerospace shell design and materials, Troy Lee were able to get the D4 Composite helmet to 1050 grams without sacrificing any strength. MIPS (multi-directional impact protection system) is used to add an additional layer of safety in the event of a fall. For comfort, the D4 Comp routes cooling air through a front air intake system that flows through the polymer centre and power grid side mesh keeping your head cooler during the ride. X-static and XT2 anti-microbial/anti-odor padding keep the inside of the helmet a much nicer place to be. Using TeXtreme Spread Tow carbon fibre reinforcements in the shell, the TLD D4 Carbon Freedom helmet has helped reduce down the weight of the full face helmet by almost 50 grams without sacrificing any strength. Despite the loss in weight, Troy Lee were able to strategically add EPS (expanded polystyrene) to increase strength and durability. The integrated MIPS (multi-directional impact protection system) brain protection system is designed to reduce rotational motion transferred to the brain from angled impacts to the head. The D4 package is rounded out with lightweight titanium D-rings, collarbone suspension system and quick release XT2 3D cheek pads and X-Static washable liner. Stay Strong's V3 Frame doesn't borrow a single tube from the V1 or V2 models, instead utilising a new tube style that increases stiffness while reducing weight right across the frame. The updated frame features triple butted down and top tube with double butted chain and seat stays that add strength without adding weight. These Pro sized frames feature a tapered 1.5" head tube, press fit bottom bracket (PF30), 20mm rear dropouts with 10mm and 15mm adapters and built in chain tensioners included. The V3 is a disc ready frame with a disc brake hanger adapter available (sold separately) without that adapter the frame can be run with conventional V-Brakes with its shaved and hidden mounts. A 31.6mm seat post which reduces weight whilst helping to improve stiffness. Smooth welds across the frame help give the V3 Pro Frame a much cleaner look. This low, triangular shaped frame has a modern look with overall balanced stiffness, combined with the weight saving the V3 frame will help you reach your racing goals. *This frame in Pro size up to Cruiser requires a 34.9mm Seatpost Clamp & 31.6mm Seatpost.
