The new SRAM Rival 22 front derailleur shares many of the same great design features as the top of the range Red 22 and Force 22 derailleurs but comes in at a more wallet friendly price. Like the more expensive models the Rival 22 front derailleur features YAW technology which means that the derailleur adjusts its yaw relative to the chain line. In other words, the derailleur cage rotates to align perfectly with the chain in any given position. This not only improves shifting accuracy and speed, it eliminates the need to "trim" the derailleur to prevent the maddening chain rub that can occur toward the back of the derailleur's cage, regardless of what chainring/cog combination you select. As Rival 22 is 11-speed it also features the revolutionary integrated chain spotter, which protects against chain drop, against scratches, and against frustration. WiFLi™ WiFLi = Wider - Faster - Lighter SRAM's WiFLi Technology is based on the compact 2 x 10 or 11 - two front chainrings and 10 or 11 gears in the rear - design inherent in SRAM RED 22, Force 22, Rival 22 and Apex, which delivers a wider range of gears, up to 11-32, than your standard triple, faster shifts through two chainrings and every gear on the rear cassette, and with significant weight saving. WiFLi cassettes are also available for Force CX1.
