Ultimate is not just a name it’s the word we reserve for pinnacle performance. And it’s how we define this wheelset. Cosmic Ultimate is the wheel choice for pro racers seeking a competitive advantage. This tubular tire version sees a major redesign for disc brakes with a new full carbon rear hub full carbon lacing ID360 freewheel technology and thru-axle compatibility. The rim is engineered with a NACA-inspired full-carbon profile that’s 40mm deep and 25mm wide. It’s made from 12k carbon fibers wrapped over a super rigid foam core. Full-carbon construction means the whole wheel is incredibly light at just 1235g. The 20 super-bladed carbon fiber spokes and high thin carbon hub flanges offer a proven aero advantage. The spokes are made with unidirectional carbon fibers so they don’t stretch. The spokes run continuously from one edge of the rim to the other through the hubs (R2R technology) creating one single spoke instead of two. This adds wheel stiffness and eliminates the need to mechanically attach the spokes to the hub.The rear rim is asymmetrical to improve its drive-side bracing angle so spoke tension is balanced and the wheel remains stiff under the heaviest lateral loads such as sprints or attacks. The axles are paired with automatically adjusted sealed cartridge bearings for perfect preload. At the back the ID360 freewheel system provides instant engagement and low friction. The hubs are thru-axle compatible (12x100 up front and 12x142 at the back) and made for Center Lock brake rotors. These wheels are designed engineered and patented by Mavic and are 100% handmade in our French carbon factory in Annecy. SPEED THROUGH INNOVATIONThe Ultra SL R was designed with a simple brief - to be the fastest aero road bike in the world. Not just designed to be the fastest when tested in isolation, but the fastest in the real world. Delivering watt-saving gains achieved across all areas of the frameset, the Ultra SLR has been optimised to perform around 5-10° of YAW commonly experienced by a cyclist. Every aspect of this pioneering aero frameset is engineered to scythe through the air with class-leading efficiency and scalpel-like precision. The Ultra Aero cockpit forms an integral element of the Ultra SL R's world-leading aerodynamic innovation. Designed entirely around rider and bike interaction, adding wake generators to the underside of the bars creates a Drag Reduction Zone (DRZ) for the rider's leg to sit within, resulting in a net drag reduction of around 2.1% for bike and rider. This translates to an average 23.2-second of advantage over a full YAW sweep at 22mph over 40km when compared to our already aerodynamically optimised LEVEL 5 handlebar system. A system for speed. Redesigned from the ground up our new one piece wheelset is a miracle of modern carbon fibre techniques. Hub shell, spokes and rim are molded into one piece producing one of the lightest wheels on the market with three distinct benefits - Torsional & lateral stiffness and low inertia all translating to a faster ride both in accelleration and momentum and better handling.
Auriga Disc Chorus Hydro 12X + Shamal carbon wheels - Free Upgrade - not as wheels pictured. To further advance the Auriga's racing design Tifosi has been working with professional race teams to make the Auriga frameset faster than ever...This, the third generation of multi race winning frame, has fully integrated internal cable routing, capable of running internally from shifter to derailleur. It is quick in the sprints but also comfortable enough for the challenging terrain of UK road racing. The frame uses Toray T800 carbon to add stiffness and T700 to allow flexibility in key areas, giving comfort where needed. Designed using CFD aerodynamics (Computational Fluid Dynamics) not just wind tunnel testing, the latest research has shown the truncated foil design allows air to move around the frame from any angle as efficiently as possible. This means aerodynamics in real world situations, not just in wind tunnels. The rear stays have been redesigned for additional comfort and improved braking, allowing clearance for up to 28mm tyres. Disc brakes mount using the new flat mount standard for hydraulic or mechanical calipers and thru-axles keep everything stiff and secure.Designed and assembled in the UK.Technical Specifications:•Sizes: XS, S, M, L, XL•Frame: UD Toray T700 and T800 Carbon•Forks: Carbon UD 1-1/8" to 1-1/2" with ACR internal routing•Thru Axles: 100/142mm x 12mm•Fitting: Mechanical or Electronic•Brakes: Flat Mount Disc•Bottom Bracket: 86.5x41mm•Seatpost: Carbon Aero Seatpost•Max Tyre Clearance: 700x28c•Frame Weight: 1.22kgBike Specifications:•Components: Campagnolo Chorus 12x Hydraulic•Chainset: Campagnolo Chorus 12x•Cassette Campagnolo Chorus 12x•Disc Brakes: Campagnolo Chorus 12x Hydraulic•Chain: Campagnolo Chorus 12x•Saddle: Selle Italia Model X•Bar/Stem: Deda/FSA ACR (Internal Cable Routing)•Wheelset: Campagnolo Shamal Carbon •Tyres: Schwalbe Lugano II 700x28c
Why should you be forced to choose between aerodynamics and weight between ride quality and speed? It’s simple you shouldn’t. Enter the new Tarmac—climb on the lightest bike the UCI allows then descend on the fastest. We’ve utilized our most advanced technologies from our FreeFoil Shape Library to an all-new Rider-First Engineered™ frame to deliver a race bike that is truly without compromise. The days of making sacrifices between “aero” and “lightweight” bikes are over—the all-new Tarmac is the fastest race bike ever. One bike to rule them all. This S-Works Tarmac Frameset is the perfect canvas to begin your dream build. Build your totally-custom dream bike and be ready to ride fast. “Aero is everything”—we’ve been preaching it for years and it’s still the driving force for the new Tarmac. In our quest for tube shapes that deliver the fastest frame that the UCI rules allow we took a page out of the Venge development book and utilized our FreeFoil Shape Library. Armed with a library of optimized shapes we turned to the Win Tunnel to plug these shapes into a modular test bike for more testing and validation. The result? A new Tarmac that’s the fastest we’ve tested—45 seconds faster over 40km than the Tarmac SL6 (built with Aerofly II handlebars sold separately). No compromises just pure speed. While aerodynamics were paramount to the Tarmac’s development and to the development of all of our race bikes weight was the co-pilot on this optimal race bike journey. Previously “aero bikes” always compromised in the weight department—the more drag you reduced the more weight you gained. With the new Tarmac our design philosophy was to keep it at or below the UCI weight limit out of the box with no sacrifices to aerodynamics. And with the help of the FreeFoil Shape Library tools like isotopic FEA analysis and some engineering wizardry by the best engineers in the industry we delivered a frame that weighs a mere 800 grams without giving up a gram of aero stiffness or ride quality. Continuing our quest to develop the perfect race bike we used our Rider-First Engineered™ philosophy to ensure that the new Tarmac is the most balanced best handling Tarmac yet—no matter the size. With an army of the world’s best test riders from our three World Tour Teams — Boels-Dolmans Deceuninck-Quick-Step and Bora-hansgrohe — we made changes to the Tarmac based on their thousands of kilometers on the road. We balanced the ride quality between the front and rear end so even the longest days in the saddle continue to be comfortable—all without giving up anything to the Tarmac’s legendary handling and race-winning snappiness. Building on the learnings from the Venge the new Tarmac utilizes simple integration to create a clean fast cockpit that’s easy to live with. We’ve improved the routing for any configuration — mechanical shifting traditional stems round bars etc. — all while keeping its aerodynamic attributes. These same traits also make the new Tarmac easy to work on and easy to travel with. It’s a win-win.
