Using a combination of new construction methods and materials, Assos' engineers have managed to create a short where the seat insert remains in the perfect position at all times. They start with Type.441 textile, a silky smooth fabric which boasts incredible moisture management, anti-odour and long term durability - all-in-all, a perfect cycling fabric. This new fabric is then carefully tailored using a brand new panel design to create an incredibly stable platform for the seat insert. Where their S7 shorts use four panels, the S9s reduce this to just two, lessening bulk, reducing seams and hence increasing comfort. The two panels form a unique 'butterfly' shape, wrapping around the legs snugly to form what Assos have named their ergoBox structure.
