Unlike the standard bolt-thru axle, this version has an easy to use solid twist lever. There's no need to twist and back off to get a clamping mechanism working, simply twist the lever until your wheel is solidly locked in place. This RWS MTB Plug-in Thru Axle from DT Swiss has been specially designed for use with a Boost hub-spaced frame and is stiffer, stronger and safer than traditional thru-axles. The added benefit of the plug-in system means once you have your wheel in place and axle tightened, the lever can be unplugged and stored in your backpack or pocket for safety and security. With the lever stored away from the axle, you won't have to worry about it being caught on stray twigs or branches when shredding the trails.
