Although Rival sits below Force in the SRAM line, it benefits from the same technology, which in turn has trickled down from SRAM's top-of-the-line Red group. This includes a move to 11-speed technology. so you'll have 2 additional gears. Probably the main feature that you will feel immediately is the ErgoFit textured body. The redesigned body is shaped to better contour the shifter to the bar transition and is very much textured to add grip, with a better finger wrap around. The grip is increased and the comfort is improved even further.The aluminium lever blade is extended a little to make the reach easier from the drops, and both the gear and brake levers are individually reach adjustable to get that perfect tailored fit. The SRAM X-SYNC tall square teeth edges engage the chain earlier than traditional triangle shaped teeth. The sharp and narrow tooth profile, as well as rounded chamfer edges, help manage a deflected chain.
