There is more to the carbon headsets than their exceptional good looks. From top to bottom, Box One Carbon Headsets have been designed to perform. Each unit features a custom CNC-machined alloy top cap in the shape of the Box logo with cut-outs to reduce weight. At the centre of the top cap is an anodised aluminium bolt that threads into a gold anodised aluminium expander plug. This expander eliminates the need for a star nut and works with all 1 1/8-inch steerer tubes—even carbon fibre steerer tubes. The top bearing cover is crafted from carbon fibre, which not only adds style but helps to shave weight. At the heart of the headset are two super-smooth, titanium-nitride coated, sealed, 45×45 bearings. The titanium coating results in a low friction coefficient, increased corrosion resistance and smoother rolling bearings. A split crown race makes installation and removal from forks super easy. Box 1.5-inch headsets are designed solely for tapered frames and forks, but also include an adapter which allows you to run a fork with a straight 1 1/8-inch steerer tube.
Box Two Front Hubs feature cold forged and CNC-machined, 6061-T6 aluminum shells fitted with precision sealed bearings and 20-millimetre, 7075-aluminum axles and axle nuts. Box Two Brake Shoes have cartridge pad holders to fit 70mm replacement pads, making it easy to swap out worn pads, or for the style conscious, to change pad colors. Adding to the function, these shoes with a pivoting post, so setting them is super easy.
With a stiff, one-piece, co-molded design, Box Three Air Flow Brake Shoes provide excellent stopping power and are the perfect choice for your next build. They include two-tone, dual-compound pads that feature a unique finned design that helps improve air flow. Pivoting posts aid installation and make toe-in adjustments simple and easy.
Hand built in Southern California, Box Three Wheels are made with Box One front and rear rims and 36-hole, Box Three Pro Hubs laced 3-cross front and rear with 14-gauge stainless steel spokes and brass nipples. Each wheelset is built with Wheelsmith Spoke Prep and inspected using a DT Swiss tension meter for quality control. The Clutch Hub is a traditional clutch-based coaster hub design that eliminates all of the problematic elements on ordinary hubs and only keeps the parts that work. A super-strong Full 14mm axle, bearing configuration, and drag mechanism design stops the need for constant repairs. Equipped with external slack adjustment, which can be done with a 2.5mm hex key through a hub shell access hole (can be adjusted without removing the wheel), and an improved plastic hub guard spec. The Clutch V2 is laced to the Odyssey Quadrant Rim. The Quadrant rim is made from 6061 T6 aluminium and uses a double wall design with one large hollow chamber through the middle for added strength. The Box One Stealth Expert Hubset is designed to be lightweight for lightweight riders and features small hub flanges, and decreased material to keep the weight down. This makes the Stealth Expert Hubset ideal for any Mini, Junior or Expert wheel build, but may also accommodate a lightweight rider looking to move up to a pro-sized bike. Box One Titanium Brake Posts fit most BMX race frames (size M10 x 1.25) V-brake boss mounts and weigh just 11g/0.38oz per pair. Each set comes with a packet of Ti-prep to prevent the seizing up and can easily be installed using an 8mm open ended wrench.
Box One triple-compound, 70-millimetre replacement pads fit all Box Components and Promax B-1 cartridge brake shoe holders, as well as all other standard 70-millimeter brake pads from other manufacturers.
Extruded and CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminium, Box One Hub Lock Rings are lightweight and beautiful. Replace that old steel lock ring you have now and save some weight while adding style and color to your whip to fit Shimano-compatible cassette bodies. Keep in mind, aluminium is softer than steel, so use care when installing one of these lock rings.
