With their new DUB cranksets and bottom bracket standards, SRAM have upped their game, with the two products combining to create a lighter, stiffer and more durable system. SRAM's DUB Press Fit Bottom Bracket fits in your standard 41mm ID press fit bottom shell and provides a stiffer and more durable bottom bracket compared to the competition and SRAM's own GXP design. By using a 28.99mm axle, the DUB bottom bracket offers bigger bearings than bottom brackets used for 30mm crank axles, improving durability and stiffness, as well as being lighter. The DUB system replaces SRAM's previous GXP and BB30 crank and bottom bracket systems to provide improved durability, better compatibility and a stiffer, stronger and lighter product. DUB cranks can be used with any existing bottom bracket standard when used with the appropriate DUB bottom bracket. Performance benefits aside, it also means your crank is future proofed in case you happen to swap your frame. Easy to install and highly durable, SRAM's DUB Press Fit Bottom Bracket sets a new standard in durability and longevity.

Featuring an integrated seal that’s pre-assembled into the cups, SRAM’s PressFit 30 bottom bracket is designed to keep out dirt and water that could cause increased wear and tear. Simple to fit, it is designed for road and mountain bike (MTB) frames with bottom bracket shells with a 46mm inner diameter and cranksets with 30mm diameters. The key difference with PressFit 30 is how the bearings are fitted into the frame. Bearings are housed in nylon cups which will be pressed into the frames bottom bracket shell. This bottom bracket is designed for 30mm spindle cranksets. Frames will need a 46mm inner diameter bottom bracket shell to accommodate this system. PressFit 30 for road will require a 68mm wide shell while PressFit 30 for MTB will require a 73mm wide shell. When designing the SRAM PressFit 30 bottom bracket, the brand set out with the aim of combining the best of BB30 technologies with the best features of the Pressfit standard. The result of this is a sealed 30mm bearing system with superior bearing life. Manufacturer's Part Number: 00.6418.009.000

There are various sizes of bottom bracket shell on the market, so compatibility needs to be checked. The three most common frame bottom bracket shell widths are 68mm (English threaded road and mtb), 70mm (Italian threaded road) and 73mm (British threaded mtb). There are also many axle shapes and styles, from JIS or ISO square tapers through to the round splined axles such as ISIS or Octalink and then there is the new external cup systems which have the axle built into the crank arms. Some frames are now using the new BB30 system which uses bearings pushed directly into the frame and removes the needs for cups to be threaded into the frame.
A variant of the external bottom bracket, this SRAM BB86 GXP PressFit bottom bracket cuts weight and provides easier installation by allowing you to press the bearing cups into the frame instead of threading them. There's no change to the crank - spindle length and diameter remain the same. Technologies: GXP: Other systems rely on side-loaded bearings to eliminate play, causing bearing wear. GXP captures the left-side bearing between the spindle and the left crankarm and allows the drive-side bearing to float axially on the spindle. There's no need to side-load bearings during adjustment. No excess wear and much simpler installation. Just tighten to the proper specifications and you're ready to roll, worry-free. GXP's two bicycle-specific cartridge bearings and eight seals ensure a smooth, long-lasting ride. SRAM's Gutter seal system takes a two-stage approach in directing contaminates away from the bearings providing longer bearing life. GXP’s Gutter Seal design also reduces friction, 35% less drag than previous versions, improving rider feel and performance. Gutter seal system has deeper installation tool grooves which provide stability and support while applying torque to the adapter cups. SRAM'S design and material choice have dropped 15g out.
