The crankbrothers candy is an iconic pedal designed by Carl and Frank the original founders of crankbrothers they were tired of getting stuck in mud-covered pedals with no way in or out. They realised that existing pedals were too complicated….It started with a simple question: what is the best way to attach a shoe to a crank? To answer this question Carl and Frank created a system with only two moving parts hinging on a spring. This system became known as the eggbeater pedal and later it was adapted into the candy pedal. The Candy is really diverse and is used by a wide range of riders. We have seen them out on the trail at cyclocross races and even on commuter bikes. The cage around the 4 point engagement system inspires confidence and offers a great alternative to the eggbeater pedal if you want more of a pedal body surface area. Servicing is simple and does not require any specialist tools just a flat head screwdriver socket wrench and 8mm allen key to hold the pedal by the axle. We recommend that the pedal is cleaned and greased every 30 hours of riding and the bearings are inspected for wear.

Look Keo 2 Max Road PedalsWith a thin body for reduced drag and wider size, the Keo 2 Max road bike pedals make your feet more stable and make the most of your power delivery. Made with a tough composite body, a plate of hard-wearing stainless-steel and a chromoly (CrMo) axle, their modern design complements the styling of today’s bikes. By increasing the overall contact area with your cycling shoe, Look has ensured these pedals bring you increased comfort and efficiency.Features: Body Material: Composite body with Stainless-Steel platform Axle Material: Oversized Chromoly (CrMo) Axle Size: Standard 9/16" thread Intended Use: Road (recreational to competition use) Pedal Stack Height: 17.3mm (including cleats) Platform Width: 60mm Contact Surface Area: 500mm² Tension: 8Nm to 12Nm adjustable spring Cleats Included: Yes, supplied with grey Look Keo Grip CleatsFloat: 4.5° grey cleats included (black 0° and red 9° cleats available separately) Distance Pedal Spindle / Crank Arm (Q Factor): 53mm Pair or Single: Pair Weight: Single Pedal: 130g; Pair with Cleats: 328gTechnologies:Optimised Surface Contact: The Look Keo 2 Max pedal’s surface area has substantial symbolic importance. It is part of the brand’s identity and acts as an indelible signature on the product. The contact surface of these revised Keo 2 Max pedals preserves the strong lines on which its history was built. Its width has been increased to 60 mm to provide a larger platform and improved foot stability during pedalling. This creates a feeling of unrivalled comfort not found in any other pedal. Look also sought to optimise power transfer thanks to its larger 500 mm² of usable surface (+25% increase). The shape of the stainless-steel plate has been revised to match that of the cleat and to keep, regardless of the position of your foot (depending upon the angular float you use), the same amount of contact for consistent performance. Increasing the pedal’s usable contact surface, without any additional weight gain, improves the power to weight ratio, making the product even better and allowing you to perform at your bestImproved Spindle Profile: The spindle profile of the Keo 2 Max pedals has also been optimised. Built around an oversized CrMo+ steel axle, it is composed of an axle with an inner ball bearing and a needle roller bearing, located under the contact surface, to handle the load and distribute it optimally. A new component has been added between these two bearings. A serrated washer, previously used to hold the needle roller bearing in place, has been replaced with a conical spacer. This technical solution reduces friction, increases fluidity, and by consequence, decreases the geometrical tolerances of the pedal body and play. The sole purpose of the sum of these improvements has been to guarantee you irreproachable reliabilityBuy Look Components from Chain Reaction Cycles, the World's Largest Online Bike Store.
