Neoprene fabric is a closed-cell foam, which traps thousands of insulating gas bubbles. In dry, cold weather, this glove will trap the warm air generated by your hands and keep you warm. Neoprene fabric is water-resistant and in cold, wet weather the glove will work in the same way as a surf wetsuit as long as your hands are generating warmth, the glove will trap a thin layer of water against the skin and warm it up. Unlike other lightweight materials (eg a lofted synthetic down-replacement), neoprene doesn't lose its thermal insulating properties when damp and wet. The snug-fitting, stretch material ensures that the fit stays close (not baggy), so dexterity is maintained allowing you to control the bike even in ugly conditions.
Industry Firsts After testing all the other swimming socks on the market, Zone3 found that they nearly all filled with water and easily slipped off the foot when swimming. A design solution was found by increasing the length of the sock so it could be tucked into the wetsuit to ensure no exposed skin and adding a Touch closure strap around the top to keep the sock in place to reduce the amount of water that enters the sock.
