Orange Switch 7 Pro Mountain Bike 2023 - Enduro Full Suspension MTB
  • £5600.00
  • RRP £5800.00
  • Saving you £3

The Switch 7 – the Need for Speed Enter the Orange Switch 7, taking its name from our fun, popular MX wheeled Switch 6 but going bigger, faster, and harder, this bike is taking things a little more seriously. The aim with the Switch 7 was to produce a race bike, to take everything we already knew with the addition of feedback from supported EWS racers and the newly established factory racing program and combine that to make a bike that's even more capable of competing at the sharp end of races on the toughest tracks in the world. The Switch 7 is a true representation of Orange Bikes’ capabilities in frame development and production. The frame and each individual component have seen extensive FEA analysis and 3D modelling to identify any potential issues and to optimise each structure to perform at its best.Of course, we back all of this up with real-world prototype testing and have clocked up the miles amongst the test team, Factory Racing team and a few riders who are known for being hard on bikes, validating the computer analysis and giving us the confidence in the design.FEA has been used for for both deflection and fatigue to fine tune the frame's elements for strength and optimal compliance.Although the frame silhouette is still very intentionally that of an Orange, a great deal has changed, but also much remains the same. This is a completely UK made frame, manufactured by the hands of craftsmen with decades of experience, from flat sheets of aerospace grade aluminium to individually custom-fabricated tubes, seam-welded for each specific purpose, working in harmony with CNCed components from aluminium billet meticulously modelled and analysed. This all produces an aluminium frame with a weight less than that of many ‘carbon’ frames in its category. It also means we have a product that's strong, durable and fully recyclable at the end-of-life cycle.WHY THE SWITCH 7 NOW?Orange's image in the media has always been “Those British guys who make the simple single-pivot bikes in the grim north…”Well, first up, it’s not grim up North, it’s pretty damn spectacular and we are blessed with some of the finest trails in the country on which to hone and test our bikes.Secondly, performance single-pivot is and always will be the core of the Orange Bikes philosophy; that will never change. We believe in the benefits of a single-pivot system, its performance and its unique ride feel that make an Orange Bike iconic; and that is not as simple as you think. Racing has been a part of our culture since Orange’s inception, the hunger to compete and challenge ourselves has always been part of the company’s ethos from day one. The new Switch 7 was born out of a need simply to go faster on the race track! So why now? That’s not to say that we haven’t done a linkage bike before!Over the years there have been many examples of Orange bikes using a linkage, some that we have put into production and many more which we have prototyped. At the right point in time when we find a valid reason to proceed with a linkage bike, we have done, and these bikes have been used on the UCI World Cup downhill circuit, with privateer racers as well as on your local trails for years. When we conceived the idea of a new Orange Factory Racing team to compete in the EWS the seeds of a new enduro race bike were already germinating. At Orange we are passionate about all things two-wheeled. The mix of decades of development with our unique frame construction methods, along with a race team with plenty of years under their belt, meant we had the ideal melting pot to create our greatest race platform yet.SWEATING THE DETAILS The Switch 7 is an MX wheeled enduro bike 170mm travel front and rear. It uses a link-driven 205x65 trunnion shock, mounted low in the frame helping to lower the bike's centre of gravity and allow for a more neutral weight distribution whilst riding. A trunnion mounted shock in our factory spec runs on a full complement of bearings instead of bushings, both the trunnion mount and lower eyelet, along with all the frame pivots run on cartridge bearings allowing us to achieve as low as possible break away force, providing incredible sensitivity to the initial part of the shock's stroke. The lynchpin of this dynamic bike is our STRANGE power link. STRANGE (Special Technology RANGE) has been responsible for numerous projects, from prototype frames to general components like grips, for a large proportion of Orange’s existence. It forms a huge part of our development process and has seen some pretty incredible products over the years. Some of which never saw it past the testing phases. The STRANGE power link allows us to have a considerably more progressive shock curve than we have used previously. It’s this shock curve which adds to the truly bottomless feeling that the Switch 7 delivers, but also allows the use of both high-volume air cans or coil shocks. Through the rear shock’s travel, the leverage ratio falls from 2.85 to 2.10. Looking at shock force, this means the real working progression is 36%. The curve was developed so it maintains the fun direct feel that Orange bikes have become famous for while adding the big travel requirements of a very progressive platform. With the bike’s kinematics sorted, this race machine also benefits from our lowest pivot position to minimise pedal kickback, and drivetrain induced interference, leaving the rider to do the job at hand. Anti-squat numbers for the Switch 7 in the 32/52t gearing start at 130% falling to 105% at full travel. Around dynamic sag the anti-squat is at 120%, this means that the bike will be efficient on the pedals when pushing hard in or out of the saddle. An additional request from the Orange Factory Racing team was to have an option to increase the bike's bottom bracket height, we’ve done this using an additional pair of “dog bone links” which are available separately and increase the bikes BB height by 5mm with only a half-degree steepening of the head angle, giving the rider the choice when the terrain demands it without adversely affecting the steering geometry. The frame is covered in features not previously seen on our bikes and are the result of meticulous analysis and testing. The Switch 7 sports a 49/56 ZS headtube, this has helped improve both strength and stiffness at the front end of the bike, increase the surface area for welding between head tube, down tube and top tube as well giving us enough room to drop the downtube slightly to allow for a water bottle in the front triangle. To make access even easier new tooling was produced to create a recess on the top side of the down tube. The bike also uses a UDH gear hanger incorporating SRAM’s new industry standard and allowing a spare to be bought at nearly every bike shop on the planet.Technology developed on other models also plays it part, the Switch 7 has an asymmetrical swingarm design similar to the recently released Stage 6 Evo, this swingarm allowed us to increase the bike's vertical stiffness whilst tuning its lateral compliance, producing a bike with a direct feel but with buckets of grip.Focussing on chassis dynamics has been important throughout the Switch 7’s testing program. It’s easy to make a bike too stiff and effectively end up with reduced traction and a “dead” or “wooden” feel to the bike’s ride. A large part of the additional grip being produced by this bike is down to a design that isolates the shock from the lateral forces coming through the frame particularly during hard cornering and large compressions, so the shock is only loaded in a linear manner. There were a few reasons for doing this; first to ensure the best possible life of the shock and bearings, second to minimise any external input that could increase friction and hamper the shock’s performance, and third this linkage design allowed us to control the swingarm’s lateral compliance using custom designed and manufactured tubes specific for the job.Throughout the design process we were conscious of our reputation for low maintenance bikes. We made every effort to conceal the majority of our bearings within the front of the swingarm, out of harm's way and safe from jet-washers.Bikes will come with a 5 year bearing warranty for the original owner and any original owners outside of that period will receive heavily subsidised pricing. The icing on the cake is our new chainstay and downtube protectors. These keep your pride and joy looking sharper for longer, help dampen chain slap, impact from stones and are the final details on a bike that has seen an incredible amount of development. The FactsWHY THE SWITCH 7F: 170MM | R: 170MM | W: 29/27.5,Brand New Lightweight Frame machined & Handbuilt in Britain,5 year frame warranty with Limited Lifetime Crash Replacement,New Aggressive Enduro Race geometry optimised for 170mm front & rear travel,New Linkage Driven Progressive (LDP?) suspension kinematics.,More neutral pivot location allowing less drivetrain/suspension interaction,Low position Asymmetric pivot – neutral suspension feel & increased chainring clearance,Asymmetrical swingarm with increased longitudinal stiffness,New top tube accessory/Bottle cage mounts and bottle dimple in frame ,New stiffer lower profile 56mm zerostack Head tube,Geometry for reduced offset fork,New Improved dropout with UDH gear hanger,Boost 148 rear hub spacing,New Top tube accessory/Bottle cage mounts and bottle dimple in frame,Internal cable/hose routing,30 x 8 bearing mount compatible shock,205 x 65 trunnion shock for reduced friction,Adjustable BB height.

Nukeproof Giga 297 Factory Carbon Bike (XT) Full Suspension Mountain Bikes
  • £5499.99

The Giga 297 Factory XT features a full carbon frameset with Nukeproof's reactive and adjustable suspension platform and it is equipped with exceptional components to match. It is also engineered with a mixed wheel platform, with a 29" wheel up front and a 27.5" on the rear, giving a sublime balance of speed and stability that enhances your pace, confidence and control. Fox Factory Kashima Suspension and Shimano XT 12-Speed Groupset This Giga Factory edition is armed with Fox 38 Float Factory Kashima coated forks, a Float X2 Factory Kashima rear shock and a Shimano XT M8100 12-Speed groupset. This groupset includes a wide-ranging 10-51T cassette, XT M8120 4-Pot hydraulic disc brakes and a Shimano XT Hollowtech II chainset. Plus, this full-suspension bike rolls fast and stable upon DT Swiss EX1700 Spline 30 wheels wrapped in Maxxis Assegai and Minion DHR Tubeless Ready tyres, giving you more pace and grip than you thought possible. Gluttony – Habitual Greed or Excess It’s a motto that athletes like Sam Hill live by. The new Nukeproof Giga is the embodiment of this idea; Designed to be the ultimate hard-hitting Super-Enduro weapon for when you just need more. As riders, we are all guilty of the gluttonous sin; we never stop striving, never stop pushing, enough is never enough in the hunt for the ultimate. It’s a constant push for bigger, longer, rougher and faster with ever-increasing demands on the performance and capabilities of our bike. The pursuit is endless. In its first year, the Giga frames have racked up numerous test wins and media awards, plus a whole heap of silverware at the races. Whatever the wheel size; the Giga is a seriously capable machine, with 180mm (27.5” or 29”/27.5”) or 170mm (29”) rear travel; the Giga is a monster truck of a bike that has travel in reserve for when you need it. But to pigeon-hole it as a point-and-shoot machine would be a disservice as it is so much more capable than this might suggest. Due to the way that it uses its travel; the Giga gives you the feel of a big bike, yet the versatility of a modern super-enduro bike. The Giga has a dynamic and confidence-inspiring ride to help you push your limits in all kinds of terrain. It’s equally at home at big mountain technical enduro stages of venues like La Thuile, as it is lapping the biggest lines in the Whistler bike park. Supportive, Controlled and Progressive Suspension Performance The suspension is designed to be super supple off the top, whilst being supportive in the mid-stroke and progressive throughout the rest of the travel. The anti-squat is optimised to ensure the Giga descends like a hooligan yet behaves itself on the climb back to the top for the next run. The suspension platform is based on the same horseshoe driven linkage as Nukeproof’s award-winning Dissent downhill frame, albeit now with a 2-stage main pivot flip-chip. Using an eccentric axle system, riders can alter the Kinematic progressivity, so the bike can be tailored to suit the conditions on the trail with only an 8mm Allen key. Setting 1 = 25.5% progression Setting 2 = 29% progression Both settings have a super supple beginning for small bump compliance. They also both have good mid-stroke support for better cornering and pumping. Like the Dissent, the progression drops off in the end stroke to prevent mid-stroke harshness or spiking and allows more tuning options with volume spacers. The + Progressive setting can be used to add shock progression on a coil set up just like adding a volume spacer to an air shock. The added suppleness is also good in wet and slippery conditions. Robust and Lightweight Carbon Fibre Frameset The Giga Frame is constructed completely from UD 700/800 Carbon fibre. This allowed Nukeproof to optimise the stiffness and compliance of the frame parts individually. The front triangle has been tailored for stability and precision, whilst the rear triangle was designed for compliance to help tracking and provide grip. Another bonus of the carbon rear triangle is that it has a lower un-sprung mass for ultimate suspension performance. To ensure a perfectly dialled fit Nukeproof now offer the 297 bikes in S, M, or L sizes and the 290 bikes in M, L, XL or XXL. The frame geometry is Long, Low, Slack and Steep as it is based around their saddle offset principle, which ensures the seated riding position is tailored across all sizes, with steeper seat angles on bigger frames. The Seat tube is also designed for maximum seat post insertion to allow maximum drop. Fox Suspension and Wide-Ranging Shimano XT Groupset This Factory specification is designed as the perfect privateer's race bike. Spec'd with custom-tuned Fox Factory 38 and X2 suspension. The drivetrain is from Shimano’s bulletproof performance 10-51 range XT groupset. The braking performance is from Shimano’s ultra-powerful XT 4 pot brakes. The all-carbon frame rolls on DT Swiss EX1700 wrapped in Maxxis Tubeless Ready tyres. Water Bottle and Accessory Mounts and Integrated Rear Mudguard The Giga is also sculptured to fit a 750ml water bottle (carbon bottle cage included) as well as an accessory mount under the top tube for emergency trail tools. All models also feature an integrated rear mudguard and plenty of clearance for up to 2.5” tyres. The frames feature a clear paint protection kit as standard with 3D contoured rubber downtube, seat and chainstay protection. The Nukeproof GIGA: Gluttony is not a sin. The suspension platform is based on the same horseshoe driven linkage as Nukeproof’s award-winning Dissent downhill frame, albeit now with a 2-stage main pivot flip chip. Fox Suspension and Shimano XT 12-Speed Groupset This Factory specification is designed as the perfect privateer's race bike. Orbea Rise H10 2022 - Electric Mountain Bike
  • £5499.00
  • RRP £6399.00
  • Saving you £14

Same RS experience but in aluminumLike its carbon sister, Rise Aluminum’s power comes from an EP8 RS motor, developed in an exclusive collaboration between Orbea and Shimano.Orbea acted on the motor firmware to offer the most natural and efficient assistance as possible, eliminating drag and power delay that’s typical of conventional ebikes. The motor was also optimized to provide maximum assistance between 75 and 95 strokes per minute, the cadence at which the human body pedals the most efficiently and where we normally pedal our standard mechanical bikes. This means that the harder we pedal, Rise responds instantly with more power, with a feeling of natural assistance.Another unique aspect of the RS philosophy is its autonomy. Due to the lower power consumption, the lower weight of the bike and the greater dependence on the rider’s legs, the battery in Rise lasts about 50% more compared to a standard ebike. This translates into surprising autonomy for the 360Wh battery in the carbon models and a whopping 540Wh in the aluminum models with a completely redesigned battery.Weight is another key to Rise and something Orbea invested many hours in to optimize the details of the models: frame, integrated battery, cable routing and push buttons were taken into account. Motor optimization through the Rider Synergy also allows for trail components to be mounted, which saves weight and enables the bike to handle like a mechanical trail bike. The lightest in the category, also in aluminumNatural pedaling and handling are the two aspects that differentiate Rise the most. To keep these characteristics intact in the aluminum versions, Orbea’s engineering team scrutinized all the details and invested many hours in development. The recently debuted aluminum version features a completely redesigned 540Wh battery, developed by Orbea, who rethought the distribution of the 21,700 cells, the housing arrangement, the wiring and the brackets to find a battery that is as optimized and lightweight as possible and with one of the highest energy densities on the market. For the frame, Orbea selected the best materials and applied the most advanced manufacturing processes, just as it does for its highest-level carbon frames. Thanks to the double- and triple-butted, hydroformed tubes, the team optimized the thickness and shapes of the tubes and reinforced the most delicate areas. In other words, it saves weight where you don’t need material and adjusts the stiffness in the important areas. In effort to give the highest level of attention to the new aluminum version, Orbea applied its polishing process to the frame. This technique smooths the welds at the tube joints, matching the aesthetics of a carbon frame. In fact, it’s difficult to discern the differences between an aluminum frame and carbon frame. This process also increases aluminum’s fatigue resistance in critical areas. All this design and development work has resulted in an aluminum frame weight of merely 3.4kg — just 100g more than an Occam aluminum frame and 2kg lighter than most aluminum ebikes on the market. The total weight of the new aluminum Rise is an impressive 19kg for the top-of-the-range model and 20kg for the entry-level model.

Kona Remote 160 29" 2022 - Electric Mountain Bike
  • £5499.00
  • RRP £5999.00
  • Saving you £8

We can’t pretend not to be excited about the future of electric mountain bikes, which is why we’ve jumped head-first into the deep end. Whether you’re looking to do more epics or are someone that’s short on time, an e-MTB opens up a ton of doors. The only question that remains is where will your e-MTB take you?The Remote 160 brings the joy of a longer travel of an e-MTB to the masses. A 29” wheeled ripper, this bike brings all the fun of a 160mm travel e-MTB in a more affordable package. A Shimano motor and battery provide a customizable amount of pedal-assist ensuring you have the exact amount of power you want when you want it. Ultra-powerful hydraulic disc brakes and 200mm rotors front and rear provide controlled stopping even when you’re hauling ass on steeper terrain. No matter what your reasoning, the Remote 160 will have you laughing up and down the trails.FEATURESKONA 6061 ALUMINUMKona 7005 and 6061 Aluminum alloys are used extensively throughout our fleet of mountain and asphalt bicycles. A tough, durable, light alloy, both Kona 7005 and 6061 deliver fantastic, reliable performance that lasts for thousands of rides. Much of our 7005/6061 tubing is butted and/or formed, meaning the tubing’s wall thickness can be increased or decreased, as well as shaped, so we can fine-tune a particular frame’s strength and ride characteristics depending on its intended application.INTERNAL HEADSETBearing cups are actually pressed into the frame and are easily removable. An internal headset also reduces stack height, so the height of the stem and bars are more adjustable, giving the rider the best fit possible.TAPERED HEAD TUBEMore girth at the bottom of the head tube better distributes shock force, prolonging the bearing life of the headset itself and eliminating brake shudder, while providing confident steering performance. The inherent strength of its triangular design also means a stronger steering position and improved balance, giving the rider more control in rough terrain. A zero-stack, tapered head tube also puts strength where the load is going—into the lower headset cup—maximizing bearing durability where it’s needed.TUBELESS COMPATIBLE RIMSTubeless rims allow for tires with more puncture resistance; the ability to run lower tire pressure, which provides better tire grip on the trail; lower rolling resistance; and weight savings over traditional tube and tire systems.12x157mm AXLE12x142mm, 12x148 and 12x157 rear axle standards provide two major advantages to the Kona rider: the 12mm diameter of the rear axle provides the rear hub and frame with a stiff interface, while the 142/148/157mm outer diameter of the hub allows the wheel to be quickly and properly positioned in the frame before the rear axle is inserted. For 2017, you’ll see the 12x148 Boost standard in the mix. Boost spacing provides more tire clearance at the chainstay yoke, while the rear wheel is stiffer and more durable relative to a 12x142 thru-axle.BEAMER INDEPENDENT SUSPENSIONBuilt to be off-the-top progressive, Beamer Independent Suspension helps the bike to stay higher in the travel and recover from hits more quickly. The Operators are instilled with what our product managers like to call “pure shock movement,” whereby the shock is protected from side load. Designed to be highly tuneable and extremely durable, the Beamer IS is our version of greased lightning.
