Castelli can officially only rate these warmers at UPF 50+, but in their laboratory tests they actually blocked 99.8 percent of damaging UV rays. Using a polyester base they found this it is not only more effective than nylon at blocking UV rays but is also much better at keeping you dry, which means these skins are better in both cooler and warmer conditions. Castelli have kept the construction very clean to eliminate seams that can rub, and used double-sided silicone elastic to make sure they stay in place. They fold up small, so they’re great to stick in your pockets for your next big mountain day.
Castelli had simple goals for their Superleggera 3 Short Sleeve Jersey. Make it as light as possible, and as breathable as possible, while not compromising on transparency, sun protection and functional details. The Oltre textile, with its distinctive horizontal mesh stripe construction, provides superb breathability, making sure heat and harder efforts won’t leave you overheating and overly sweaty. It also offers support for the rear pockets, preventing too much annoying sag when you’re loaded up for a ride. Attention to detail is superb, as expected. Every seam, stitch and component is carefully designed for optimal performance and comfort. A no-sew construction around the sleeves and hem gives a deluxe finish and the YKK® zipper is incredibly easy to slide for easy operation. Pro riders are squeezing into ever more aero cycling jerseys, but for the majority of us, the more forgiving tailoring of the Superleggera 3 strikes the right balance of comfort, freedom of movement and smooth airflow. Whether riding fast or taking it steady, the stretch fabrics and fit make it brilliantly comfortable while not sapping energy from flapping.
Made from lightweight Meryl® Skinlife yarns and featuring mesh zones over the top of the foot and ankle, the Women’s Superleggera 12 Cycling Socks excel in the heat of summer. A mid-foot support band enhances comfort while antimicrobial silver ions prevent the build-up of odours when the going gets sweaty.

Most warmers available are made from a nylon/elastane material and they tend to hold onto moisture, meaning they may be warm to start but they'll soon have you feeling chilly and damp when you get going. However, the Pro Seamless Leg Warmers use a polyester yarn, far better for dealing with sweat build-up while still maintaining excellent warmth. Just what you need for cool weather, hard training and fast racing. Thanks to the low weight, high stretch and seamless construction you'll barely notice them either. If the day warms up they'll fold up small and easy fit in a cycling jersey pocket.
Castelli have long been pioneers of lightweight shorts for hot-weather cycling but in pursuit of lighter weights, durability can be compromised. The Superleggera Bib Shorts are a result of Castelli's design team looking for an innovative way to achieve performance in the heat without over-compromising durability. Hot Weather Cycling. No Sweat. It starts with Castelli using a cutting-edge development in woven fabric rather than the traditional knit fabric of standard shorts. This reduces weight by some 50% while still offering the same level of muscle support and non-transparency. Uniquely, the fabric is also graded so that it becomes lighter as you move down the leg. The last part of the leg weighs a mere 90 g/m² compared to the usual 220 g/m² of standard cycling shorts. Less weight equals greater comfort as the heat rises. Reduced moisture absorption is also key to the Superleggera's comfort and lack of weight. When dry, the shorts weigh a measly 141 grams. However, they actually absorb 30% less moisture too, so when you really get a sweat on they stay light. Compared to normal shorts that could be as much as 150 grams in weight saved - a welcome boost to power to your weight ratio as you head upwards. While being barely-there light the fabric is durable and abrasion-resistant against the saddle too - though something this light won't like you hitting the tarmac so ride safe and rubber side down. The bib section of the shorts is borrowed from the Free Aero Race 4 Bib shorts for perfect support, comfort and moisture management while stretch-woven grippers, with Lycra, keep the shorts locked in place over the thighs. Progetto X2 Air Seamless Seat Pad Inside the shorts is Castelli's fabulously comfortable Progetto X2 Air Seamless seat pad. So what exactly makes it so comfortable? It starts with the first contact point against the skin. This upper skin-care material is now seamless and even softer than previous versions letting you enjoy smooth and chafe-free pedalling, no matter the distance. The next layer, Castelli’s infinitely variable thickness padding, imparts just the right level of support where you need it, thicker under the sit bones and thinner on the sides and under the perineum - the result is intense comfort with reduced bulk. Lastly, to really push home superior comfort levels, perforated viscous padding is added under the highly sensitive ischial and perineum pressure areas, offering luxurious support when you're on the saddle for hours on end.
The Thermoflex 2 Leg warmers are made with Thermoflex, a soft fleece-backed material that does a great job of keeping in warmth on a chilly day. UV Protection and breathable: The leg warmers are UV protective to UPF 50 so also keep the sun off as the day warms, highly breathable to prevent sweat build-up and they're lightweight too, making them easy to stash in a jersey pocket when not needed. Castelli have kept seams to a minimum to prevent irritation and their double-sided silicone elastic grippers keep them firmly in place. A brilliantly useful accessory for any cyclist. Note: The Castelli Thermoflex 2 Leg Warmers come as a pair.
If you're racing or training in mild but often changing conditions, it can be difficult to decide whether to cover the legs or not. The NanoFlex 3G leg warmers take the guesswork out, meaning you get protection in when it's cooler but extra comfort as the day warms too. For cooler and damp conditions slip them on to provide extra warmth for your legs, and wet weather protection should the clouds break. If the sun shows up, they're easy to take off and stow in a back pocket. They're the ideal companion to wear with your thermal winter bib shorts. This 3rd generation of NanoFlex is better than ever thanks to the 3G weave that provides extra warmth, improved water resistance and features a nanotechnology microfilament mechanical water repellent finish combined with a short-chain chemical durable water repellent (DWR) finish for class-leading water resistance. Castelli's NanoFlex warmers collection are used by Team INEOS, often copied but never bettered. Note: The Castelli NanoFlex 3G leg warmers come as a pair.
The Castelli Superleggera Bibshort is designed for the hottest conditions and is the latest iteration in Castellis quest to build the most lightweight bibshort. Castelli has been developing lightweight bibshorts since 2011, but when designing the Superleggera Bibshort Castelli went back to the drawing board to rethink every aspect of the shorts design. Castelli decided that what the short needs to do is hold the seat pad securely in place while adding as little weight as possible and retaining durability. The solution was to engineer a brand-new fabric that is woven rather a knit, saving 30% in weight for the same level of support. Castelli also worked with a world leading mill to create a graded fabric that becomes increasingly lighter the further down the leg it extends. At the lightest point, this fabric weighs 90g/m2 compared to normal short fabric which weighs roughly 220g/m2. The result of these new technologies is a bibshort that weighs an incredibly light 141g in size large. The fabric construction saves weight, but it really comes into its own when riding hard in hot conditions as it absorbs 30% less moisture compared to normal short fabric. This means that while the fabric saves 48g in weight when dry, it saves closer to 150g when youre sweating your way up Cols and pushing yourself to your absolute limit. Key Features Premium lightweight short for hot weather Gradient stretch woven fabric for minimal weight with optimum support Minimalist stripe mesh bib to minimise weight and keep you cool Integrated gripper elastic to keep shorts in place Progetto X2 Air Seamless seat pad Temperature comfort range of 20 40C Weight 141g (Large)
