These Avid Guide brake pads offer excellent durability and their larger size helps them to disperse heat build-up more effectively. They're also available in two different compounds, an organic type for a more instant initial bite in dry conditions and the sintered type which performs more efficiently in the wet and is even more durable. Technologies: Top-Loading Pads: When the only thing between you and the trail is bike maintenance, every second matters. With our top-loading pads, new disc-brake pads can be installed without taking off the wheel, working under the caliper, or doing any upside-down pad juggling, so you’ll be ready to ride much quicker.
Better heat dispersion than current road disc systems.

The clad steel/alloy/steel rotor construction allows heat generated from braking to radiate quickly through the aluminium core achieving surface temperature drops of around 50 deg C. When used with Ice Tech pads surface temperatures can drop from around 400 to 300 deg C, this provides great improvements in performance all round Ice Tech rotors achieve long pad life, less noise and less fade due to improved heat dispersion. Rotor contact surface has been developed for excellent pad clearing and cooling which increases pad performance and life.
