They offer great performance and comfort, plus come complete with both reach and cable adjusters for easy set-up Tech Tip: Although your flat handlebars may be 31.8mm or 35mm at the central stem clamping area, most flat bars have a standard 22.2mm diameter at the ends of the bars. These brake levers, as with most on the market, are designed for bars with this standard 22.2mm measurement at the end of the bars.

The Hyperglide (HG) sprockets on the Shimano SLX 11 speed cassette have a computer designed tooth configuration with contoured shift gates, resulting in a crisp smooth shift even under load. Close ratio gearing allows more efficient use of energy through finer cadence control. Also, the sprockets are cut away and drilled to reduce weight without reducing rigidity.
Finished off in the dark grey anodised paintwork, the Shimano Tiagra brake caliper is lightweight, durable and has a toe-in adjustable brake shoes. It's compatible with all the Shimano Linear Response (SLR) road bike brake levers. Please Note: The "sunken nut" mounting bolt that comes with this brake is the standard length and will fit most aluminium and carbon fibre frames. If you have an Aero-type carbon fibre frame with a very deep rear brake caliper mounting hole, you will need to purchase a longer sunken nut separately. Alternatively, if you are replacing like-for-like, you should be able to re-use your existing sunken nut.
The 9120 shifters feature a re-designed brake hood that is more comfortable to grip, especially for those with smaller hands. The shifters also offer up to 14mm of reach adjustment. The shifter hood has been slimmed down considerably from previous hydraulic STI shifters and is close in size and shape to the mechanical brake lever. The 9170 brake calipers have been tuned to perform optimally in road racing conditions. They feature the Shimano Flat Mount system for a sleek and aerodynamic profile and Ice Tech pads for improved heat dissipation.
