This Nukeproof Bearing Kit is a genuine, high-quality replacement bearing kit, featuring high quality EZO Japanese cartridge bearings for Nukeproof Horizon front hubs.
This front wheel features a Nukeproof Neutron front hub that is available for both 15mm or 20mm spacings in both Boost and non-Boost. Nukeproof also sell end caps for QR (available separately). The 6066 alloy rim has been extensively to ensure it is a rim which is light enough for aggressive trail riding but strong enough for DH. Nukeproof have used J-Bend spokes meaning tensioning and spoke replacement is much simpler than using a straight pull spoke. The wheels come taped with tubeless valve installed so all you need to do is add sealant and your tyre to get a finished tubeless setup. The valve supplied is Nukeproofs Horizon valve which also has a core remover built into the cap. This valve is also compatible with tyre inserts like Nukeproof ARD. Ready for fast-paced and aggressive trail-riding, this front wheel has gone through extensive testing to meet the demands of both Enduro and DH riders. It features a special blend of alloy material, which produces a hardness similar to 7-series alloy, but with the ductility and yield properties of a 6-series. This gives you the best of both worlds in terms of stiffness, strength and weight. Nukeproof has also ensured this front wheel's rim profile is the same as the rear (sold separately), the only difference is the front has a thinner sidewall for greater weight savings. One final highlight is it comes equipped with J-bend spokes, which means that tensioning and spoke replacement is as simple as possible. Enduro ABEC 5 Bearings After extensive testing with various brands of bearings, Nukeproof chose to use Enduro ABEC 5 bearings in this front wheel. These bearings have the “LLU/LLB” seal type, which uses two lips that make light contact in a groove to create a labyrinth where the water or dirt has a more difficult time to penetrate. LLU seals are similar, only the contact pressure or interference fit is greater to seal better. Enduro bearings have 80% grease fill on both sides whereas most other bearings have 35% grease fill on one side. This delivers full coverage, so there are no dry areas as well as avoiding metal on metal contact or wear. This means that the axle feels tight out of the box and after a couple of rides it will become free. This front thru-axle features a high-quality 7075 aluminium build, which makes it not only lightweight but also very strong and durable on your mountain bike (MTB). This makes it a great choice of upgrade for riders who need to replace their damaged or lost stock axle on their forks. The axle has a washer which helps reduce pressure on the fork legs and transfers some of the tightening torque to the clamping load. This also helps to increase stiffness, while preventing the axle from getting stuck when you want to remove it. All axles are a 6mm hex on the non-drive side and have a backup 6mm hex on the drive-side, allowing the axle to be tightened and loosened from either side of the bike.
