The redesigned body is shaped to better contour the shifter to the bar transition and is very much textured to add grip, with a better finger wrap around. The grip is increased and the comfort is improved even further.The aluminium lever blade is extended a little to make the reach easier from the drops, and both the gear and brake levers are individually reach adjustable to get that perfect tailored fit. The new SRAM Rival 22 front derailleur shares many of the same great design features as the top of the range Red 22 and Force 22 derailleurs but comes in at a more wallet friendly price. Like the more expensive models the Rival 22 front derailleur features YAW technology which means that the derailleur adjusts its yaw relative to the chain line. In other words, the derailleur cage rotates to align perfectly with the chain in any given position. This not only improves shifting accuracy and speed, it eliminates the need to "trim" the derailleur to prevent the maddening chain rub that can occur toward the back of the derailleur's cage, regardless of what chainring/cog combination you select. A groundbreaking design introduced last year, now Yaw technology comes to the SRAM Force 22 front derailleur. It uses a modified parallelogram to actually rotate the derailleur cage as you shift. This gives more clearance for the chain in each respective chainring, so eliminating chain rub in any gear combination without the need for trim on the front shifter. The slim spring design gives more clearance for the frame, minimising any interference issues and the integrated (but removable) chain spotter removes any chance of chain damage to your frame.
