Regular unsealed bearings limit how thin you can actually make the pedal body without the bearing and axle getting smaller and weaker, so the solution was to use battle-proven dual bearing and bushing system from Eclat's legendary Surge pedal. Thanks to this construction technique the Seeker boasts a thinner profile to any of Eclat's other pedals without having any unecessary raised areas. A micro-knurled surface and durable pins adds plenty of grip and traction. When it came to designing the Contra pedal, Eclat were having trouble keeping the pedal profile thin while not sacrificing the strength of the spindle. Instead of taking an ‘off-the-shelf’ spindle, they went and developed their own custom option which uses a smaller caged bearing, but stays thicker closer to the crank arm where you need the strength the most. With removable pins on one side of the pedal, you can keep one side nice and grippy, and one side for grinding on. You can also put the steel pins in after the molded pins have been worn down to give more life to your pedal. The Alex Kennedy signature AK Guard received a lot of attention when Eclat debuted it at Interbike back in September. A concept that was spawned from his signature pedal; Eclat wanted to take the robust nylon construction of the AK pedal and apply it to a full guard sprocket. The end result is a 8mm thick full CNC 6061-T6 Alloy sprocket with a fully replaceable 10mm thick Nylon-Fibreglass guard that is then bolted securely on to the sprocket via x4 small bolts.
