When Castelli engineered the first aero jersey for road racing back in 2006, everyone thought we were crazy. Back then, aero was only for TTs. Performance clothing meant moisture management. And you could win the Tour de France with a baggy jersey that was little more than a polyester T-shirt. Even our aerodynamic consultants expected limited gains, so we named the jersey Split Second, though, like now, we thought even small gains were worth pursuing. In the end the gains were pretty substantial, and we completely revolutionized the look of the pro peloton. We're now on the sixth major revision of our aero jersey. The Transition 2 Jacket is a mid-weight jacket perfect for those autumn and spring rides where you want to cut the chill but dont want to overheat. The front and sleeves of the Transition 2 is made from the same windproof fabric as Castellis pro-level Gabba but with a fleece backing for greater warm. The back of the jacket forgoes the wind stopping membrane for greater breathability, letting sweat and excessive heat easily escape. All the details are there, from 3 rear pockets that are perfectly sized and placed, a silicone gripper at the waist holds the jersey in place, to a YKK Vislon zipper makes for easy opening and closing.
