Heat Mouldable Fit Bont Cycling's proprietary resin has been perfected over the last 40 years and is designed to become malleable at relatively low temperatures. The carbon chassis (base) of all Bont Cycling shoes can be heat moulded at home without the need for specialist equipment. Bont Cycling shoes feature a unique bathtub-style construction which allows for small changes to fit and shape, not size. Any 'stiff' area can be adjusted during the heat moulding process however, limitations do exist due to the characteristics of carbon fibre. Carbon fibre is not a highly flexible material nor is it designed to stretch when in its finished state and it's only through Bont Cycling's resin mix that allows it to be adjusted during the heat moulding process. Traditional last makers do not make cycling shoe lasts, they only make shoe lasts designed for everyday walking shoes. Surprisingly, the majority of other brands still use a traditional dress shoe last when building their cycling shoes.. Medial Longitudinal Arch Support Overpronation is one of the main contributors to incorrect tracking of knees during a cyclist's pedalling phase - due to internal rotation of the tibia and femur. This can result in knee injuries. In addition, the rotation of the tibia/femur can cause the pelvis to tilt resulting in lower back strain.
