Campagnolo Zonda C17 Clincher Road Wheelset
  • £449.99

The completely redesigned rim for the Zonda takes its design inspiration from the growing trend that sees the use of increasingly wider tyres, with 25mm clinchers becoming the standard if not the new minimum sizing for road riding and racing. With this increased popularity of both 25mm and 28mm tyres the wheel needs to be designed in a way to optimize the tyre/wheel interface. The new wider C17 rim ensures a more efficient shape of the tyre, improving cornering grip and safety while reducing aerodynamic drag and rolling resistance. A seemingly small increase in width offers a surprisingly different riding experience, one that is sure to leave any cyclist pleasantly convinced that this change is for the best. The new C17 rim has been structurally optimized and ensures a surefooted grip on clincher tyres as well as an even better braking feel when compared with previous versions. These benefits come with all of the tried and true design characteristics of the previous version of the Zonda rim:Differentiated Rim Height,Precision milling to eliminate excess material and weight where not needed,RDB™: Rim Dynamic Balance,MoMag™ Technology: tyre bed free of spoke holes, no need for rim tape, structural superiority..The hubs continue to incorporate the same technology that made the previous version such as successful wheelset:Aluminium oversize flange,Front Hub: 16 aerodynamic radial spokes,Rear Hub: 21 aerodynamic radial spokes in MEGA G3™ pattern,Cup and cone bearings.Weight: 1596g

As with the mechanical parts, the rear derailleur represents the pride and joy of the EPS project and encompasses a series of technologies and innovations that allow shifting speed to be optimised and guarantee unprecedented precision, even in the case of multiple shifting with 11 sprockets at a timeThe EPS rear derailleur is comprised mainly of a mechanical structure, derived from the mechanical gear and composed of a derailleur rod/parallelogram/derailleur cage, of a worm screw enabled by an electronic actuator. As with the derailleur, the electronic rear derailleur actuator is composed of a gear motor and a sensor, the built-in resolver, that reads its movementsThe geometry of the parallelogram has been made more rigid and optimised to promote interaction with the electronic partsThe lower and upper bodies, the parallelogram and the carbon derailleur cage are moved by a screw system and lead worm screw (not a spring screw) which, in turn, is enabled by the electronic actuator that communicates with the DTI. The built-in resolver inside the actuator is capable of reading the movements of the rear derailleur at any time and optimising its position by communicating with the DTI (Digital Tech Intelligence)The rear derailleur is also equipped with a play recovery system using a helicoidal spring that optimises stability and precision and keeps operation and performance constant over time, even after many kms have been coveredAs with the mechanical rear derailleur, it is possible to optimise its position with respect to the frame and chain by acting on two adjusting screws: the screw that adjusts the mechanical end stop and the screw that adjusts the distance between the upper pulley and sprockets. By using these screws it is possible to optimise the installation of the rear derailleur and increase the precision of its operationDTI: Digital Tech Intelligence is housed inside the Power Unit and it continuously monitors the signals that arrive from all the EPS components, thus managing their operationMULTI-SHIFTING: There are no longer any limits to Multi-shifting and the choice is at the fingertips of the cyclistRIDE BACK HOME: The uncoupling mechanism of the rear derailleur is useful if the battery runs out on the road, allowing you to manually uncouple the rear derailleur to position it on which ever sprocket you requireWATER PROOF: In order to achieve the IP67 classification, all the electronic components of the EPS system underwent a series of tests, which proved their ability to function perfectly under one meter of water for at least 30 minutes

Following professional cyclists means meeting all their needs. This is why Campagnolo(R) has designed two Record(TM) brake options. There are those who prefer to always have the maximum power available (dual pivot on the front and rear), and those, on the other hand, who prefer more controlled and modulated braking, with the mono-pivot in place of the dual on the rear brake.Skeleton geometry has made it possible to reduce weight without diminishing braking power while maintaining the same operating safety. The differentiated front and rear geometry ensures power and progressive travel. brake-pad height adjustment ratio: 40-50 mm (measured from brake fixing-bolt to brake-shoe-nut)single rear fulcrum and double frontbrake pads with orbital adjustment
