Easy to use and prevent brake rubbing issues. Set the correct clearance between the brake pads and the rotor. The two thin plates simulate the clearance between the brake pads and the rotor. Follow the simple steps below: 1) Loosen the bolts holding the brake caliper to the adaptor/frame. Just loosen it sufficiently so that the brake caliper can slide from side to side. 2/ Insert the Caliper Alignment Tool between the pads and the rotor. 3) Pull the brake lever- focing the pads against the alignment tool and in turn against the rotor 4) While still holding on to the brake lever, tighten the bolts on the brake caliper. 5) Release the brake lever and remove the tool and your pads should now be centred to the rotor with an equal distance either side.
Benefitting from aluminium arms, these caliper brakes are designed to deliver excellent strength and durability wherever your next road adventure takes you. Tektro has also put these through a melt-forging process for additional robustness on demanding road conditions. As a result, they're more than capable of handling all of the demands associated with long days on the road. Dual Pivot Caliper Brakes Featuring a dual-pivot design, these brakes use their two pivot points to offer better braking as well as increased power and control. Providing a firm and instantaneous braking response, these also ensure a longer service life. Coming complete with P473 adjustable angle pads, these brakes allow you to enjoy improved durability as well as high-response braking over longer periods on your road journey. Cinelli has optimised its performance to ensure it accelerates efficiently and handles with sensational agility and control while also offering all-day riding comfort. This frameset has a tapered fork steerer for greater stability and is compatible with full internal Shimano Di2/Campagnolo internal electronic drivetrains and caliper rim brakes. Strong and Lightweight Carbon Frame and Fork The Superstar endurance bike is Cinelli's cutting-edge carbon fibre re-interpretation of the mythical Italian stage-racing bicycle that is the brand's heritage and DNA. Unlike other brands that each year offer bicycles with an ever-narrowing scope of use, Cinelli obsessed over the way in which the inherent qualities of carbon fibre and its manufacturing processes could be employed to produce an aggressively contemporary version of the legendary versatility of the Italian Grand Tour ride quality. The Superstar was born from the intelligent balance of low-weight, aggressive handling, over highly varied terrain, coupled with long-distance riding comfort. The Superstar not only adheres to a traditional Italian racing geometry (72.5-degree headtube and 407mm chainstays) but is also characterised by the forms of the frame, to allow the greatest precision and customisation of the lay-up of different grades of carbon in the construction process. For example, see how the tangent lines joining the top and down tubes to the head tube allow for the carbon fibre to remain completely straight thus offering the maximum weight-to-stiffness ratio. Enhanced Geometry for Greater Stability and Control The proprietary bowed top tube, whose form allows for a controlled deformation of the top tube headtube when the frame is subject to strong vertical or horizontal forces such as potholes, poorly surfaced roads etc. The controlled deformation results above all in a head tube that remains 8 percent more parallel to its original position, allowing for greater control and predictability of handling when riding in rough conditions. The use of both external and unlike most other models on the market internal PU moulds during the carbon curing process, allowing for greater compression of the fibres as well as minimising the amount of resin needed and greatly increasing long-term reliability of the frame. Tyre clearance is up to 28mm and cable routing is fully compatible with mechanical and electronic groupsets.
Correct orientation for fitting: There are two letters embossed on the piston - these should face towards the pads - ie out of the disc brake caliper. This is the same as the square-edged recess facing out and the angled recess facing in. This tool offers the ability to measure in metric, decimal inch, and fractional inch so you are never left with a measurement you cannot accurately obtain. Park Tool's Digital Caliper is a precision instrument that will accurately measure seatpost's, headtubes, bearings, spoke diameters, and much more.
The TRP Spyre caliper has a simple cable barrel adjuster so the pads can be easily adjusted tool-free. No longer is there the drag of the fixed side, adding uneven wear or worse, warping your road bike's rotors. All of this is in an incredibly thin 40mm, lightweight package, that works with any drop bar levers on the market.
This superb TRP Spyke dual-sided mechanical disc brake caliper allows both pads to actuate providing even and precise clamping force. The result of this, is even pad wear and easy pad adjustment with the addition of a barrel adjuster. This also means adjusting the whole caliper is not necessary as the pads wear. Finally, it weighs in at only 169g (per caliper) package and works with all linear pull levers.
The tread patterns in the pads have been specifically designed to maximise water dissipation, improving wet weather performance and each set comes with a spare set of pads for extra value and durability.
