Quite often Triathlon framesets have smaller frame triangles and shorter head tubes in an effort to make the frames more aerodynamic. This results in having to pull the water bottle somewhat sideways in order to get it out of the bottle cage. Most current cages on the market make bottle extraction difficult. The engineers at XLAB have a cage that grips very well over bumpy surfaces but also has a special cut off angle of 30 degrees which testing has proved is the optimum angle in Tri framesets. It is super quick to get the bottle out of the cage. The cage features stiff bottom lip to support large bottles, stiff upper tab to retain bottles in the cage and slots in the back to provide vertical adjustment on the frame. Made with the same high temperature and pressure process as the successful GORILLA CAGE and in extra stiff carbon. The 6 arm design and graphics match the GORILLA CAGE so you can now have a consistent bottle cage design on your racing machine but with cages designed for each specific purpose. Use GORILLA CAGE for rear hydration carriers.
Helps prevent bottles launching from rear carriers The GORILLA CAGE helps prevent bottles ejecting from cages on bumpy roads, and saddle-mounted water bottle carriers. The cage has over 2X the gripping force of conventional carbon cages due to the 6 high shouldered carbon gripping fingers, tall retention tab at the top and thicker carbon material. The GORILLA CAGE will fit on any standard cage mounts.
Easy-to-Use The Mini Wing 105 is a dual bottle system that has been designed to be easy to use even if you aren’t the most experienced of cyclists. XLab has made this system easily accessible even with limited flexibility and has looked ergonomically at other features such as creating a low mounting system for the cage so that it is still easy to get on and off your bike. The bottle height can be adjusted up to 1 inch to put it in your perfect comfort level. Security The high-gripping nature of the Xenon cages tout, approximately, 3.6kg of grip force which will give you the ultimate security that your bottle won’t fall out even when cycling on the most uneven sections of road, or off road. The mount itself is made of extremely durable materials to enforce the sturdiness of the bottle cages.
Race Ready The Aero TT System is a bottle and cage hydration system that has been specifically built to be as aerodynamic as possible to give you those, vital, extra seconds you need for success. XLab say that this hydration system with give you 50% less drag than round, traditional systems, and this can save you up to 64 seconds on a full race distance. Durable Cage The cage for this system is the special XLab Hi-Grip Deep Pocket Carbon Cage and not only has it been built to remain extremely streamlined but it has also been built to be strong and durable even under vigorous racing conditions.
The GORILLA Cage helps prevent bottles ejecting from cages on bumpy roads, and saddle-mounted water bottle carriers. The cage has over 2X the gripping force of conventional carbon cages due to the 6 high shouldered carbon gripping fingers, tall retention tab at the top and thicker carbon material. The GORILLA cage will fit on any standard cage mounts. Tall Gripping sides for a 7 lb grip on bottle Stiff top lip helps retain bottles Flared entry for fast insertion Thick shelf to support large bottles Material - Carbon Fiber Weight - 39g Warning To ensure the best possible fit with the GORILLA Cage, use a bottle that has a groove all the way around that is uniform and fits tightly into the hook at the top of the GORILLA Cage. Bottles with shorter groves that do not fit properly into the hook like the Camelback Podium, and bottles with grooves that are not uniform around the entire circumference like the Polar Insulated bottles are not recommended for use with the XLAB™ GORILLA Cage. In our experience these two bottles do not stay in place on rear carriers due to the lack of a groove for the cages to grip. About Xlab Xlab was formed due to a unique combination of recognizing new racing needs and an obsession for speed. aerospace designer craig turner entered the bicycle industry after quitting corporate america and wanting to follow his passion. he had a passion for speed. Saving been a senior design specialist for numerous military and commercial aircraft, and even rockets and racing yachts, he always wanted to make ‘vehicles’ go faster. being highly competitive, he did not want to get beaten on the hills by his training buddy, so he built super lightweight bikes under 13lbs in 1992. a feat not equaled in its day even by bike manufacturers. Still dissatisfied, he started the first mail order triathlon business in america. fifteen years later after selling over 10,000 tri-bikes, designing bikes for large manufactures, setting numerous triathlon equipment trends and cycling 3,300 miles across the us, he decided to sell the mail order business and concentrate his efforts full time on the aerodynamic design of bicycle gear. Innovating and trend setting have been roles in craig’s life. he also inspired candice to do a 500 mile bike ride at the age of 13 through the tough terrain of yellowstone and glacier national parks and the grueling icefield parkway.
When the going gets rough don't loose your bottle. Specially designed by Xlab to withstand the rigours on rear hydration systems and on mountain bikes. Key Features: Tall sides grip high up on the bottle holding it in place. Narrow opening in the centre keeps bottle in place on rough road surfaces. Long thick lower shelf prevents bottles falling through cage bottom. Thicker carbon greatly increases grip on bottles. Xlab measurements recorded 2X the grip force of other cages. Weight 38g (Manufacturer claimed). Please Note: Stocks may vary, white cages have a rolling stock change and you may receive White/Carbon or White/White.About Xlab Xlab was formed due to a unique combination of recognizing new racing needs and an obsession for speed. aerospace designer craig turner entered the bicycle industry after quitting corporate america and wanting to follow his passion. he had a passion for speed.
