Shimano's XTR range has always been a class act and this new 11 speed rear derailleur is no different. The derailleur provides a light action through the shifter which results in a positive and perfectly executed shift as well as a smooth journey throughout the cassette. Featuring the new Shadow design the derailleur uses a slant angle which again lowers shift effort and gives the rider an overall improved shift feel along with better drive stability. The derailleur features Shimano clutch device which keeps the chain nice and tensioned enabling a quieter ride and flawless shifting even through rough and rocky sections.

The RD-M786 rear derailleur with Shadow technology is optimised for trail riding with the addition of an innovative new friction clutch mechanism which actively prevents the derailleur cage moving forwards under tension, all but eliminating chain slap and helping to prevent chain suck and dropping, ideal for more aggressive trail riders.
