The 5700 series 105 front derailleur features a widened link for increased rigidity and improved shifting response, particularly under load. The light action spring reduces the effort required to actuate shifts, enabling quicker gear changes whilst the derailleur and cage have been optimised to work with the latest Shimano's STI lever design (and as such is not backwards compatible). The aluminium hardware of the 105 front mech is clear coated to resist corrosion and maintain their great looks.
