Using data from hundreds of bike fits and insight from bike fit experts, they have made simple changes to the touch points of the bikes. They’ve worked to develop a range of saddles using advanced pressure mapping and real-world testing to make sure any saddle on a Boardman bike is going to suit the majority of people riding it. The ADV models went through exhaustive testing to find the perfect combination of bars and stem to give controlled yet responsive handling meaning you’ll get a confidence inspiring feel whether on your daily commute or hitting the trails.Versatile tyresWith a 38mm width, Addix compound and good tread pattern the Schwalbe G-One Allround offers great grip for off-road tracks and dry trail sections but has a low rolling resistance so that speed is not overly compromised on the road. The ADV 8.9 might just be the best value for money bike we have ever made, given that it’s essentially 2 bikes for the price of 1. It’s equally at home exploring hidden bridleways and fire roads as it is clocking up miles on potholed commutes or long sportives.A triple-butted 6061 aluminium frame with hidden welds, and a full carbon fork with tapered steerer, with thru-axles at both ends, make up the heart of the bike. Blending comfort and control without compromising efficiency or sacrificing precise handling – this is an ideal platform to build the perfect all-road bike around. The ADV takes inspiration from the MTB world with its geometry – trail bikes have become more capable as top tubes have got longer and slacker, and this is passed onto the ADV. We’ve kept the top tubes long and slackened the head angle versus our road bikes, which gives a confidence-inspiring ride on loose surfaces, but without compromising body position for road riding. A slightly taller front end and a shortened stem keep the bars close to hand and sharpen up steering response.Shimano’s 2x10 speed GRX adventure bike groupset has a wide range of gears with a 48-32 FSA chainset and 11-36 cassette, perfect for steep climbs. The GRX hydraulic brake levers are designed to offer better power braking from the tops and are fitted to a flared handlebar that is wider at the bottom than the top, giving great control when you’re descending on the drops. With 38mm Schwalbe G-One tubeless-ready tyres, there’s plenty of fast-rolling grip available too.Completing the package are mounts for full-length mudguards and a pannier rack, adding the versatility for commuting, touring or winter road riding on top of the off-road smiles the ADV 8.9 delivers.Light but strong aluminium frame and tapered carbon fork give great comfort and control on and off-road,10 Speed Shimano GRX groupset is designed specifically for adventure riding with wide gear range and a “clutch” rear mech to limit chain slap,Powerful Shimano Hydraulic disc brakes ensure maximum control in all conditions,Schwalbe G-One All Round 38mm tyres combine off-road grip, low rolling resistance and added comfort – perfect for exploring anywhere,Boardman ADV wheels and Schwalbe tyres are tubeless-ready – easy to upgrade to run without tubes,Mudguard and pannier rack mounts offer additional flexibility.

Boardman beginnings, providing little ones with the cycling foundations they can build on as they grow and gain confidence. As with all the JNR models, quality is key and always starts with the frame. The small yet perfectly formed triple-butted aluminium frame and fork keep weight low, and the single down tube construction upfront allows greater standover clearance for those finding their feet astride two wheels. Wide, fast-rolling tyres reduce bumps and vibration to build confidence, and as this grows and the speeds increase, the adjustable reach brake lever is designed for tiny hands to help even the smallest of speedsters to slow their roll. Cycling adventures come in all sizes, and so do those seeking them. So, with adults catered for in our award-winning ADV (adventure) range, Boardman felt it only fair that those of smaller stature can also experience the biggest adventures. The ADV 26" shares much of the same DNA as its 700c counterparts. A triple-butted aluminium frame and alloy fork provide a stable and confidence-inspiring ride whilst offering maximum versatility with luggage and mudguard mounts. The Vee Speedster multi-surface, mid-tread 1.5" tyres are a superb fast rolling option for tarmac and light trail use, and are easily changed out to something more aggressive, should the adventure demand it. Ergonomic drop handlebars and powerful cable disk brakes enhance the comfort and control further still, and with a wide range ratio nine-speed cassette, the ADV 26" is the perfect partner for cycling adventures, big or small.

Forwards, Faster, Further - three words that encapsulate the Boardman ethos and influence every product Boardman have made. These three words represent the vast spectrum of our rider's cycling ambitions and goals, which Boardman want to support them in achieving, however big or small they are. When it comes to riding bikes, kids are constantly pushing forwards, riding faster and exploring further. So when designing our first full range of junior bikes, Boardman have put Forwards, Faster, Further on each bike to keep the childlike joy and freedom of pushing the boundaries on a bike at the front of our minds. The JNR range comprises six models, each with the goal of getting kids outside, cycling and exploring whilst supporting their developmental progression. From those first freewheeling forward movements on the 12" balance bike to the pride of mastering pedalling and going faster than before on the 20", to a family adventure venturing further on the 26", we've carefully considered every aspect of each bike's fit and function. Function hasn't come at the expense of form though, hidden welds and premium metallic paint finishes help the bikes to look as good as they ride. Our goal is to ensure that the simple act (after some practice) of riding a Boardman JNR is as fun and empowering as possible. With design cues lifted and adapted from our multi-purpose adult HYB hybrid range, the JNR 16" provides the perfect progression from balance bike to pedal bike. A light, triple-butted alloy frame and fork make the bike easy to pedal and balance. The same one-piece bar and stem as our balance model keeps things clean and simple. For those moving up from our balance model, the familiarity reduces cognitive overload, allowing little ones to focus on the new task at hand - pedalling. The first few times starting from a standstill are hard enough without a monster gear that needs to be turned, so JNR 16" uses a single gear set-up that offers the best of both worlds. Easy enough to get spinning but big enough to build up speed as their confidence grows. And once it does, the fast-rolling Vee Speedster tyres will provide plenty of grip, and short-reach brake levers designed for small hands are there to keep things under control

As with the rest of the JNR range", the JNR 20" takes inspiration from the adult HYB range with a focus on lightness and easy, intuitive handling. A light, triple-butted alloy frame and alloy fork make the bike easy to pedal and balance. Ample standover clearance and a long wheelbase mean the bike is easier to get on and off and more stable and predictable when riding. Short-reach brake levers make mastering the art of slowing down a breeze. The addition of a seven-speed Shimano gearing opens up so many possibilities. That school run that was just a little too far or too hilly is now within reach. Those Bikeability sessions will be a breeze, and with belief in their bike and ability, there'll be no stopping them from getting out and exploring.
