In fact, the Horizon carbon bar far exceeds the strength of many leading carbon bar competitors in laboratory testing, withstanding loads of over 700kg. High Strength and Damping This strength is due to the Nukeproof proprietary carbon layup and the addition of a unique layer of glass fibre for additional damping and reinforcement. Safety was the primary objective, in addition to providing the great ride quality only a high-end carbon bar can. Further safety is provided by the no-slip particle paint applied to the controls and stem mounting areas. Also, by using a low profile and a soft rubber compound, Nukeproof ensured that these grips offer optimised trail feedback without compromising on comfort. The locking mechanisms on either end provide a secure connection with the bar and the durable A25 Kraton rubber not only offers excellent grip, it ensures a long lifespan.
The grips are 115mm long which is the perfect length for small hands and there is a flange on inner clamp for additional comfort and protection. The outer end is soft rubber to protect the rider and also the handlebar in the event of a crash.
These handlebars have 25mm rise which is perfect for those up and coming shredders and their acid dipped micro shot-peened finish not only provides an amazing aesthetic, it enhances the fatigue resistance and the friction between the bar, grips, and controls to prevent component slippage. These are Sam’s special edition oil slick clamp version. Perfect for Enduro Racing Extra Soft Compound Sam has always been particular about his setup and Nukeproof has taken great pride in developing no-nonsense, custom products for Sam with some innovation even coming from his motocross bike! Together, they have helped to produce World level products that everyone can use. These grips were first used by Sam in round 4 of the 2018 EWS where he took the win and has been using them ever since. After that race he described the compound as “extra extra soft, semi throttle durometer” and described the grips as “pretty comfortable little things”. With comments like that we knew we were onto a winner with these grips.
Jacy Shumilak, Sam Hills mechanic is always looking for ways to improve Sam’s bike. Jacy has been adding grip tape to Sam’s shifters and levers to give him maximum grip when riding. He has also been adding moto foam to those hard to get at areas where mud likes to gather. The moto foam helps keep mud out but the open cell design allows water to flow through so it does not get heavier. This foam can be easily removed during maintenance and cleaned with fresh water. This bundle is for 10cm x 10cm of grip tape and 30cm x 30cm of moto foam which allows you to easily get that professional setup on your own bike. How to use: Grip tape – Cut to size and stick on contact areas for maximum grip. Moto foam – Cut to size and place in areas like crank spindle or bottom of your steerer tube to keep mud out. This open cell foam will not absorb water but will keep mud out.
