Suitable for use with any vehicle, it combines a durable, waterproof and weatherproof rip-stop canvas with an aerodynamic, lightweight shell. You can also rely on waterproof silicone sealant tape applied behind all seams, waterproof zips, and an insulated roof lining for optimum protection, comfort and warmth. Additionally, mesh fly netting will keep even the smallest of insects out. The Classic Roof Tent comes complete with a lightweight telescopic ladder that packs down, and a memory foam mattress so you sleep soundly when on your trip, as well as a handy fixing kit. For extra convenience, you can even store your bedding and the ladder inside while you travel. Understanding Your Vehicle Roof Load You can find your vehicle roof load capacity in your vehicle manual. The roof load capacity of your vehicle must be greater than the weight of the TentBox you’re putting on top. For the TentBox Classic Roof Tent your roof load capacity must be 65kg or more. It is also important to note that your listed vehicle roof load limit is for a dynamic load, which means the maximum recommended roof load while the vehicle is being driven. When your vehicle is stationary, your vehicle can take 5x more load weight - this is called the static load. In other words, there is no need to worry about the added weight of people inside your TentBox, as they will only be inside when your vehicle is stationary. There are a lot more forces applied on a vehicle when it’s being driven (breaking, turning, hitting bumps in the road), which is why there is such a big difference between the dynamic and static loads.
The TentBox Protective Cover is the ideal addition to your TentBox Classic Roof Tent. Waterproof and durable, it can be used all year round and features elasticated edging for a snug fit. Perfect for shielding your TentBox Classic from the elements in transit or when not in use. Please note, UV colour fade can occur with this product, so if you would like to maintain the black colour for prolonged periods of exposure, TentBox recommends using a UV protector spray.
The perfect pairing to the TentBox Classic Roof Tent, the Winter Insulation will add extra warmth for camping trips in the colder months. Made with quilted polyester and a synthetic filling, it attaches to the inside of the TentBox Classic, and can easily be removed when not needed. Zip-around door and window openings also line up to the roof-top tent's entrances and viewpoints, so you can still enjoy easy access and sight-seeing.
