Despite adding in an additional gear over previous 11-speed cassettes, the 12-Speed Chorus cassette is no wider, allowing you to use your existing Campagnolo-compatible wheels. Durability is a key consideration for any cassette and Campagnolo have designed and built the Chorus 12-Speed Cassette to be as durable as possible. Starting with construction of the cassette, Campagnolo manufacture the two bigger sets of three from a machined single-block piece for lighter weight and better durability. Not only that, the cassette is stiffer as a result, helping improve shifting performance as well as decreasing the chance of the cassette flexing under load, leading to premature wear. To compliment this, the cassette features a new surface treatment that is hard-wearing and reduces friction. Again, this small detail reduces wear and improves shifting performance, with the chain gliding seamlessly between gears.
