The HUUB Anemoi Aero Tri Suit brings the science of aerodynamics and passion of triathletes together. The unique Dan Bigham design, with full Neoprene Trip Technology, promotes full flowing movement while the Arms Neutral element adds comfort during the swim. The arms and legs of the suit are lengthened to provide maximum aerodynamic benefit and the lightweight, quick-dry fabric results in an incredibly fast, performance-enhancing tri-suit. The future of the triathlon suit is changing. HUUB noticed this very early on and have decided that the only way to create something great is to rewrite the rule book and change expectations. They knew this couldn’t be done alone, so HUUB brought on an ex Mercedes-AMG Petronas aerodynamic performance engineer going by the name of Dan Bigham. Dan combines his extensive knowledge of aerodynamics to understand what makes a triathlete faster. In addition to this, he’s also an athlete himself. Dan isn’t just about data; he is also passionate about usability and function. As Dan is a national cycling champion and triathlete, he has helped HUUB athletes Alistair Brownlee and David McNamee go faster, not only through positioning and equipment choices but also with the help of the ground-breaking Anemoi Aero Tri Suit. Anemoi Watts & Time Saving Ironman distance: @ 22mph = 7.5W - 350 seconds (just under 6 minutes) Ironman distance: @ 18mph = 4W - 414 seconds (just under 7 minutes) Olympic distance: @ 24mph =9.8W -71seconds Olympic distance: @ 20mph =5.7W -83seconds The Anemoi was compared to the top-selling DS Long Course Tri Suit. Tests were done at a velocity range from 35kph to 55kph on seven different athletes (including Ali Brownlee, David McNamee, Harry Wiltshire and Dan Bigham). Aero benefits can and do vary across riders because of their body shape and position (in the region of ~30% variation), but 15w is an average, seen across every size, shape and speed of the rider.
Using the Dave Scott Long Course Triathlon Suit as a benchmark, the starting point for the HUUB Anemoi Aero Suit was to amass a large collection of race data from a variety of triathletes - short, middle and long course, male and female, and age group up to Olympic champions. This data was then used to dictate the direction of the design, knowing that a small change in the drag force experienced can result in an enhanced and much faster performance. Working to create turbulence only where it is needed and minimising skin friction everywhere else creates an energised boundary layer that can resist changes in curvature and shape around the body. Working through countless prototypes to discover the best fabrics, panel positioning, seam lines and much more, HUUB has managed to design an incredibly aerodynamic suit that works consistently for every rider.
Following three years of research and development, the HUUB Anemoi 2 SUB22 Tri Suit redefines how you choose your race day clothing. The fabrics selected have been tested to ensure excellent drag reduction to make you faster and provide optimal performance. HUUB have selected the ideal fabric for the different speed ranges, meaning you have the quickest suit for your race speed and the SUB22 delivers optimal aerodynamics at speeds under 22mph. Featuring fully bonded seams to enhance comfort and aerodynamics, an Arms Neutral™ design for natural positioning and two rear aero pockets for storage. Arms Neutral™ Set Sleeves HUUB created Arms Neutral to enhance the body position most held during your activity and is a feature originally derived from their wetsuits. The cycling kit sleeves are cut in an arms forward position, to create neutral fabric tension on the body in your most held position.
The standard, Dan Bigham designed Anemoi Aero Suit was created by first working to amass a large collection of race data from a variety of triathletes - short, middle and long course, male and female, and age group up to Olympic champions. Working through countless prototypes to discover the best fabrics, panel positioning, seam lines and much more, HUUB has managed to design an incredibly aerodynamic suit that works consistently for every rider. These design achievements have been pushed even further with the HUUB Anemoi+ Aero Suit thanks to the introduction of fully bonded seams. Progressing their developments to make you more streamlined and deliver more speed, this latest addition has been tried and tested and was found to make an average saving of 4-watts in comparison to the original suit.
