Packing a Protective Punch Weighing in at a gravity-defying 690 grams (size M/L), the Stage MIPS Helmet is the lightest full-face mountain bike helmet in its class. However, not for a moment should you think lightweight means lack of protection. Not a bit of it. The Stage packs a heavyweight flurry of protective punches too. To counter both slow and fast speed impacts it uses Dual-density EPS and EPP foam, absorbing impact forces should you take a tumble. It doesn't end there though. It also features brain-protecting MIPS technology, more detail on that further down. A tough outer Polylite shell optimises strength and adds overall durability - perfect for a helmet that will see a lot of use. A Polyacrilite injected chin bar with EXOskeleton also adds strength without sacrificing weight. Designed for Enduro but passing DH certification, you can be confident to push your mountain biking limits in this lid. MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) The Mips system is designed to provide added safety for helmets in many accidents. For certain impacts, the Mips system can reduce harmful rotational motion that might otherwise be transferred to the user’s head. Rotational motion is a common cause of concussions in oblique hits to the head. In a crash, the Mips system is designed to move slightly inside the helmet to help redirect forces away from the head. Yes, that's fantastic too. 11 high-flow vents let fresh air rush into the Stage, with internal channelling and 14 exhaust ports creating perfect airflow. Uphill pedalling is now more cool and comfortable than ever. Inside, the contoured 3D XT2 cheek pads and washable X-Static liner create the perfect fit. And with 2 liners, 3-sets of cheek pads and 2-neck rolls you can always get the right fit and feel.
