While the Formula Road Cycling Helmet (MIPS) sits in the mid-range bracket, it's still packed with features to deliver uncompromised safety. Protection begins with Bell's pioneering Fusion in-mould technology. This sees a durable polycarbonate shell bonded directly to an EPS shock-absorbing core. This results in a tough cycle helmet that can meet the demands of daily use and provides protection from hard impacts should you, unfortunately, fall from your bike. You also get the benefit of MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System). MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) The Mips system is designed to provide added safety for helmets in many accidents. For certain impacts, the Mips system can reduce harmful rotational motion that might otherwise be transferred to the user’s head. Rotational motion is a common cause of concussions in oblique hits to the head. In a crash, the Mips system is designed to move slightly inside the helmet to help redirect forces away from the head.
