The new SRAM Red Brake Calipers have been completely over-hauled and are lighter, more aerodynamic and more powerful than ever before. In order to try and close the gap in power to their disc brakes, SRAM design the Red brake caliper with their AeroLink arm, which has been designed to increase braking power, teamed with the standard fit SwissStop Flash Pro brake pads and you have a very powerful caliper brake. The AeroLink arm and pad carriers have been profiled to minimise weight and maximise aerodynamic efficiency. They might be small gains on paper, but those small percentage savings all add up. The AeroLink arms also mean the Red Brake Caliper happily works with modern, wider road wheelsets and tyres and is capable of accepting up to a 28c tyre in order to maximise compatibility and comfort. The finish of the calipers also matches the new Red eTap AXS groupset, so you have a full collar and cuffs setup for that full factory look.
