Ideal balance of lightness and tough Kevlar reinforcement11Storm compound concept perfectly combines grip and durabilityAdded puncture resistance without added significant weightThe tyre is constructed from a rubber compound called 11Storm which has been proven in independent tests to provide lower rolling resistance, increased durability and better grip to the previous best compounds available. With a Kevlar reinforcement under the tread, this tyre will reassure the most nervous rider and offers superior durability. All the tyres in the Fusion 5 range feature a Road Tubeless Ready design. This technology has several benefits, the main being puncture resistance. The absence of an inner tube eliminates the risk of punctures due to impact/pinch or burst. Comfort is also increased due to the opportunity to ride at a lower tyre pressure so less feedback from the road s defects. There s also increased grip thanks to a greater deformation of the tyre in curves and improved performance due to no internal frictions with an inner tube. If the tyre is to be used as part of a tubeless set-up Hutchinson recommend using their Protect Air MAX latex sealant to guarantee airtightness. If there is a puncture, the sealant acts to fill the hole (until 3mm) and repair the tyre. However, the tyre can also be fitted to a standard rim and with an inner tube.
