Wahoo Speedplay Comp Road PedalsAdopting the same platform as seen on the higher-end Zero model, the Speedplay Comp Pedals incorporate a strong chromoly (CrMo) spindle and come with an easier tension cleat system. This makes them ideal for those new to Wahoo Speedplay pedals and clipless pedals generally. Ideal for all types of riding, they provide excellent power transfer, comfort and durability.Adjustable FloatThese pedals feature an adjustable free float that can be fine-tuned to ensure you get the correct float movement, which reduces the cycling strain on your knees. Other pedals only allow a pre-set amount of float or no float at all, but the Zero pedals can be adjusted to your personal preference. This helps to ensure you will be comfortable even at the end of the longest days in the saddle, helps to avoid injury and significantly optimises your power output.Dual-Sided Cleat EngagementAnother invaluable feature is the dual-sided entry, which means you can just step down on the pedal and go. No more fumbling or looking down to get into the right position, as the cleat’s design and pedal’s shape ensure that you’ll engage quickly and safely without having to stop and think. Maximum Comfort & PerformanceUnlike traditional cleats, each of the essential foot positioning adjustments can be changed without affecting each other. Three-Way Adjustment ensures you can set up the cleat’s front/rear and side-to-side positions individually and then choose how much float you want. These unique adjustment settings significantly increase comfort and efficiency while dramatically reducing knee strain and fatigue. Cleat Covers Designed for Safer WalkingThese Zero pedals come with Speedplay's rubberised cleats, which make those off the bike periods less dangerous if your bike's mechanical problem forces an extended walk on the tarmac, or if you feel the need for a coffee stop.Features: Body Material: Grivory Thermoplastic Spindle Material: Chromoly (CrMo)Spindle Size: Standard 9/16” thread Bearings: Triple Sealed Cartridge & Needle Cleat Type: The Zero cleat fits any shoe with a three-hole or four-hole mount Cleats Included: Easy tension walkable cleats included Q-Factor: 53mm (alternative spindles available separately) Double-sided entry The Zero cleat positions your foot closer to the top of the spindle for improved power transfer The thin pedal profile of the Zero pedal lets you power through corners where your rivals coast Built-in grease port for easy bearing lubrication Manufacturer's Part Number: WFPRC1S53 Weight: 232g (each)Technologies: Large, Stable Pedalling Platform: The Zero Pedal System provides the same solid connection as conventional single-sided pedals, but with Speedplay's unique, inverted design the cleat provides the platform once the cleat in engaged Quality Without Compromise: Zero pedals use precision cartridge and needle bearings - three of them instead of two found in most other pedals - which allows the Zero to be thinner for a lower stack height, better cornering clearance, and reduced aerodynamic drag. Like all Speedplay Pedal Systems, the locking edges of Zero pedals and cleats are metal-on-metal for durability and safety, unlike competitors who use engagement edges made of plastic True Locking Mechanism: The Zero's locking mechanism does not rely on spring tension for security, so entering and exiting Zero pedals is easy, but unintended release is virtually impossibleBuy Wahoo Components from Chain Reaction Cycles, the World's Largest Online Bike Store.

The eggbeater's simple design gives the advantage of amazing mud shedding and 4 points of entry making it perfect for XC trail riding and cyclo cross. The crankbrothers eggbeater is an iconic pedal designed by Carl and Frank the original founders of crankbrothers they were tired of getting stuck in mud-covered pedals with no way in or out. They realised that existing pedals were too complicated….It started with a simple question: what is the best way to attach a shoe to a crank? To answer this question Carl and Frank created a system with only two moving parts hinging on a spring. This system became known as the eggbeater pedal and later it was adapted into the candy pedal. Cleat: Premium brass cleats included Shims: Included Release Angle: 15° to 20° Warranty: 5 years Weight: 278g per pair Spindle: Forged scm435 chromoly steel Body: cast stainless steel Wings: cast stainless steel Spring: 300 series stainless steel Inner bearing: Needle Outer bearing: Cartridge Maximum rider weight: No restrictions Colours options: Silver/Blue or Silver/Red You can customise the fit and feel of your pedal using crankbrothers tread contact sleeves (CRB-13282). They shims come with 3 different thicknesses enabling the rider to ensure good contact between their shoes and the pedal axle (as the tread wears down the contact can move away from the axle and onto the wings of the pedal). You may also like to run the pedals on your road / commuter bike. Buy a set of Quattro cleats (CRB-15289) to use on your road shoes. It makes pulling off from junctions a breeze as you have 4 points of entry to the pedals. As with the rest of the crankbrothers range the pedals are fully serviceable with a level 3 / 11 service kit (product code CRB-11730). Servicing is simple and does not require any specialist tools just a flat head screwdriver socket wrench and 8mm allen key to hold the pedal by the axle. We recommend that the pedal is cleaned and greased every 30 hours of riding and the bearings are inspected for wear.
