The Powerline Flat Pedal MTB Shoes take no short-cuts when it comes to giving you the very best in mountain biking comfort and performance. First, the DST 4.0 max grip rubber sole, with hexagonal pattern, gives the Powerline unshakeable traction on flat pedals. From smooth flow trails to rocky, rooty chutes to NorthShore features, they keep your feet planted and your confidence high. With recessed toe and heel areas they also add all-terrain grip for any sections where you need to hop off and push. Foot protection is also superb. It starts with a D30 shock-absorbing collar around the ankle and moves on to a moulded rubber toe cap and heel protection, taking the inevitable knocks of mountain biking in their stride. Inside the shoe, D3O® is also used for the High Impact Zone Insole and this combined with a high-rise EVA foam midsole provides outstanding support and shock absorption. With their welded microfiber upper, the Powerline are also brilliantly abrasion and water-resistant too, keeping you on the trails even if the weather is against you.
Available in two options, fixed or self aligning, the fixed hold the foot static in the pedal while the self aligning allows the foot/ankle to move from side to side (float). Does not include fixing bolts.
You can fit toe clips and straps to some flat pedals to benefit from pulling upwards when pedalling on hills or accelerating, these tend to be more for road/commuting use.
All our toe-clips are supplied with mounting hardware.
Kitted out with 370mm-long tethers and highly adjustable steel buckles, these Christophe Leather straps are a luxury option for any toe-clip setup.
French cyclist born on the 22nd of January 1885 in Paris, Eugène Christophe is viewed as the inventor of the toe-clip. In 1925, he sold his invention to Poutrait-Morin (now known as Zéfal), and was the Director of the company until his death in 1970. Since then, Zéfal never stopped selling these legendary Christophe toe-clips.
The additional length of these straps allows maximum adjust-ability for larger shoe sizes, whilst the Techno-Polymer coating will ensure that these straps can handle any punishment you put them through.
