"68" 70 or "73") relate to how wide your bike's bottom bracket shell is in millimetres. The other three numbers (eg. 118) relate to how long your current bottom brackets spindle (axle) is in millimetres. The 68 and 73mm sizes are the "English thread" type, the 70mm size is the "Italian thread" type - please measure your bike's bottom bracket shell width to confirm which size you need.
Featuring an integrated seal that’s pre-assembled into the cups, SRAM’s PressFit 30 bottom bracket is designed to keep out dirt and water that could cause increased wear and tear. Simple to fit, it is designed for road and mountain bike (MTB) frames with bottom bracket shells with a 46mm inner diameter and cranksets with 30mm diameters. The key difference with PressFit 30 is how the bearings are fitted into the frame. Bearings are housed in nylon cups which will be pressed into the frames bottom bracket shell. This bottom bracket is designed for 30mm spindle cranksets. Frames will need a 46mm inner diameter bottom bracket shell to accommodate this system. PressFit 30 for road will require a 68mm wide shell while PressFit 30 for MTB will require a 73mm wide shell. When designing the SRAM PressFit 30 bottom bracket, the brand set out with the aim of combining the best of BB30 technologies with the best features of the Pressfit standard.
