By using a 28.99mm axle, the DUB bottom bracket offers bigger bearings than bottom brackets used for 30mm crank axles, improving durability and stiffness, as well as being lighter. The DUB system replaces SRAM's previous GXP and BB30 crank and bottom bracket systems to provide improved durability, better compatibility and a stiffer, stronger and lighter product. DUB cranks can be used with any existing bottom bracket standard when used with the appropriate DUB bottom bracket. Featuring an integrated seal that’s pre-assembled into the cups, SRAM’s PressFit 30 bottom bracket is designed to keep out dirt and water that could cause increased wear and tear. Simple to fit, it is designed for road and mountain bike (MTB) frames with bottom bracket shells with a 46mm inner diameter and cranksets with 30mm diameters. The key difference with PressFit 30 is how the bearings are fitted into the frame. Bearings are housed in nylon cups which will be pressed into the frames bottom bracket shell. This bottom bracket is designed for 30mm spindle cranksets. Frames will need a 46mm inner diameter bottom bracket shell to accommodate this system. PressFit 30 for road will require a 68mm wide shell while PressFit 30 for MTB will require a 73mm wide shell. When designing the SRAM PressFit 30 bottom bracket, the brand set out with the aim of combining the best of BB30 technologies with the best features of the Pressfit standard.
